Soloing a lot? I recently started a new mage to level with a friend, and one thing I've noticed is that I never stop to drink while soloing, but we both do have to from time to time while we're playing together. That seems counter-intuitive at first (working together, shouldn't it be easier, and thus require less mana?), but what happens is with it being easier, we move from encounter to encounter much more quickly, so you end up blowing through mana more quickly. So, even today, a level 17 mage can drain her mana pool -- at least if she's playing with friends.
