| Baldur's Gate was almost an MMO At a recent GDC Europe panel for BioWare, studio founders Ray Muzyka and Greg Zeschuk had some fun with the audience, reminiscing on what might have been. Baldur's Gate was originally envisioned as an MMORPG quite different from the title many gamers know and love. |

| Dynasty Warriors Online set for American release by Aeria Games The Three Kingdoms era of Chinese history is one of those settings that people just can't seem to get enough of, with other free-to-play games mining the territory with vigor. The Dynasty Warriors franchise, however, has quite a bit of pedigree, with a long tradition of character-based storytelling and impossibly large battles. American fans of the franchise can take heart, as it has just been announced that Aeria Games will be publishing Dynasty Warriors Online in North America, with the game currently accepting beta applicants. |

Man, Baldur's Gate II occupied my time back in college. Yoshimo was too OP with that dragon, since you can set down like 10 traps without aggroing him if you have the right item.
The last battle with the Ascension mod was one of the hardest fights ever.

Actually just replayed BGII, midway through the expansion. Actually remember playing it as multiplayer for a while with a friend of mine back nearer its release.
Wasn't as good as we were often arguing over where to go and the lack of decent voice comms made it annoying to make decisions.
Still, as an MMO it wouldn't have been as good, the NPCs really helped towards my enjoyment to that game.

Must... Bring... Myself... to play BG and BGII through... But... They're in GERMAN! Apart from WoW, I find it really difficult to play games in German... It's not that I dislike the language or anything... It just feels soooo weird to hear everything in German or the like... It's just this inherent feeling that it should all be English! But hey, it was an Icewind Dale-Baldur's Gate box for 5 euros, I'd have been crazy not to buy'em :-)
(and back in the day voice acting was terrible)
