I'm a sucker for song. I have the musical talent of a dead raccoon who's been baking on the road in the summer heat. But I do love listening to music and the beautiful poetry of verse. And while I do tend to prefer fresh folks or original crescendo music, I can still appreciate parody lyrics that are sung with skill. I think that's why A Void in My Heart by Jennisfar and its accompanying machinima by JoshuaIRL.
I really enjoy Jennisfar's singing and lyrics. Joshua's work with the video creates great counterpoints and enhancements to her lyrics, and the pair really just come together well. At the risk of starting a fight, I think Jennisfar and JoshuaIRL's choice for characters and locations are a nice breath of fresh air in the musical machinima scene.

WELL. This song is good, HOWEVER, i happened to notice the comment the guy wrote under talking about how their musical talent is that of a dead raccoon baking in the summer heat, WELL GUESS WHAT? i saw a dead raccoon yesterday at the side of the road, Coincidence? I THINK NOT.
I loved it! Jenisfar has the best female voice out there in machinima makers. It's so nice to not listen to auto-tuned screeching. The girl has real talent.
The subject made me lol. It's clever to think that those silly warlocks get attached to their demonic minions and you JUST know that the minions would eat your heart if they could. XD
Holy crap. I had an idea almost identical to this a few months ago (Warlock + Voidwalker love story!) I guess if I'd made it now, it'd just be a ripoff :(
*sniffle* Her voice is beautiful, and parts of the video were just stunning. At the risk of sounding lame, I was really surprised to find myself tearing up...My first toon was a 'lock, and I spent more time with my voidy than any other. He seemed to have a real personality. I invested a lot of time and care into making my warlock the best she could be, and this song reminds me of the real emotional connection that results.

Showings of class pride like this end up being some of the most powerful Machinima, I think. There definitely needs to be more work like this!

Are you implying that he WAS that dead racoon?
Because I can't see any other way it could not have been a coincidence :P

As a Mage I have to hate anything regarding warlocks...
Loved the voice and the video that backed it up so well. But boy would I hate to have to raid with her

Great video, the singing was well done and the settings shown were pretty. And I liked that the lyrics were subtitled.
One critique I have is that the camera movement could have been smoother and some shots framed differently to make things less distracting.

I was surprised when everybody posted positive singing talent comments. Needless to say, I was not disappointed. Very, very well done!

It's a warlock minion love song ! It's so wrong on so many levels that it's right.
I think the universe just imploded on itself from the awesomeness of it all.
