This week's stories
Lisa Poisso as Prupher the tauren druid
I had a hypnotic week picking Bloodthistl -- I mean, finishing up the Silvermoon area, where all the Bloodthistle is located. There's an utterly fascinating tower in the area where there grows a virtual thicket of Bloodthistle; you can run around in circles for literally hours picking Bloodthistle. So whenever I wasn't too busy, I found myself assiduously devoting my efforts to earning a few points in herbalism by picking Bloodthistle. Fortuitously, I was never too busy to stop and pick Bloodthistle! Around and around and around the tower. The Bloodthistle grows right in a circle! It's utterly fascinating. The Bloodthistle, I mean. Not the tower. (Although the tower is fantastic too because it has, well ... Bloodthistle.)
This week, I've moved away from the Bloodthistle and over to The Barrens, where I hope not to be quite so distracted by the Bloodthistle. On second thought, I have a question perhaps somebody could answer for me in the comments: Is there perhaps a reliable source of Bloodthistle in The Barrens?
Michael Sacco as Shockbroker the goblin shaman

Despite the significant setback of losin' my office on Kezan (and also the entirety of Kezan, now that I think about it) to some kinda earthquake, things are lookin' up for yours truly! As the wheelingest and dealingest shaman around, I've successfully negotiated with the earth elementals on this island paradise we landed on to secure a performance enhancement totem. Some regulatory groups frown on their use, but as a goblin educated in these matters, I find that you only really run into problems when you use too many at the same time. I know a lotta guys with a similar problem. You only need the one, fellas! Don't get greedy. Wait, what am I sayin'?
Anyway, the discovery of kaja'mite on these islands is the best thing to happen to goblins since automated ear-piercing machines, so I'll be recouping from my force majeure problems in no time. I've got a meeting with the elementals again in a few hours, and I'm figurin' maybe I can bargain for some weapon enhancement. Maybe somethin' that'll let me hit pygmies in the face so hard they go orbital. If it ain't rocket-propelled, it ain't goblin, and that's all I gotta say about that.
Robin Torres as Robinemia the Forsaken huntress
Squeee! /cough /cough Hmmm. Undead vocal chords are not able to handle fangirl glee. But Sylvanas! The Dark Lady herself! She's here in Silverpine and getting into a snit with the new head of the Horde. Squee indeed! I completely support her new plan for keeping the Forsaken from dying out, so to speak. It is a brilliant move to have allied with the Valkyr and I see absolutely nothing wrong with raising the already dead. It's not like we are killing specifically to raise them as undead. I think The Big G just has his trousers in a bunch over nothing.
Silverpine Forest looks so wonderful now that we've decorated it properly. We should rename it to the Forsaken Forest. Poetic, huh? Of course, it's got a bit of a worgen infestation. Mangy pests. Mr. BigPants should be more worried about what those guys are doing to deplete our forces, rather than chastising our more capable leader.
I am glad I can't really feel sorrow or loss as much as I could as a human. Otherwise, the incident with Yorick would have been much harder to handle. Of course, it was a terrible idea to hide in a wardrobe to eavesdrop on a couple of worgen. Perhaps since we've lost our sense of smell, we forget it exists for everyone else. I don't know how those beasts didn't smell me or ... oh wait ... Yorick spent all that time in an outhouse. I bet his stench overpowered both me and my bear, Thor. Yeah, bad idea by a couple of scent-challenged spies. I guess I do feel a little something about this and it isn't a good feeling.
I have a completely unrelated question. I don't understand why we need to tame our hunter pets as Forsaken. Why don't we raise a fallen animal to command as our own undead minion? Or why not feed our pets a bit of that plague our apothecaries have developed to achieve the same result? I think it would create a greater bond between hunter and pet. I need to find out how I can make this happen. Anyone know whom I should ask?

Death to the Scourge - and death to Sylvanas!
I no longer distinguish between Scourge and Forsaken, because there is no longer any point. They all want to kill everything. The difference between me and the Scarlet Crusade is that a) the Crusade never *did* distinguish between free-willed undead and enslaved undead, and b) I am not crazy.
That's all I have to say about that.
An amusing druid adventure - though I'd thought that only blood elves could use the bloodthistle buff?
Also, OMG adorable goblin. *SQUEE*
jishdefish Aug 18th 2010 7:26PM
Ah, so you automatically assume that any race wandering the plaguelands is obviously a freshly-turned undead? Not an insane assumption, but a paranoid Scarlet Crusade one.
No? But you said those were the only differences! Make up your mind, man!

a) the Crusade never *did* distinguish between free-willed undead and enslaved undead
So... in the long run, they were correct?
b) I am not crazy.
That's what crazy people say.

"I.Like.To.Kill.Things. How is that not clear by now"-Richard LFG comic.
I think that sum's up a) people who play wow and b) the forsaken. :P

Are there still bears with the plagued skin in the zone formerly known as WPL? I think that there just might be enough plagued animals for an UD hunter to cover all her bases. Wolves from Elwyn, boars, bears, etc...
Brett Porter Aug 18th 2010 7:53PM
Actually there are some perfectly diseased bears or worgs right in Silverpine Forest! I have a diseased bear for my undead hunter's pet, and I'm pretty sure I saw a pic of someone else's on here last week.
Plenty of "dead" pets to be had!

I don't want an already plagued animal. I want an animal I turn myself -- to create the hunter/pet bond. Like my own fluffly white undead owl. I'd call her Hedwig.
Endless Aug 19th 2010 1:31AM
@ Robin Torres - I agree, undead hunters should totally "tame" their pet through necromantic rituals.
vandenhamster Aug 19th 2010 2:43AM
It's simple, just let them kill an animal, THEN tame it!
jishdefish Aug 18th 2010 7:39PM
Oh, right! I forgot to ask, what time zone are these based in? Central?
jishdefish Aug 18th 2010 7:43PM
Nvm. Found it. EDT.
James Aug 18th 2010 7:40PM
Selfloathius has been level 16 for a long time, I think he is too busy loathing himself to kill any mobs!
If my vote counts for anything I vote he joins a random PUG and behaves in an irritating way to sully the reputation of warlocks everywhere (while gaining xp).
Pyromelter Aug 18th 2010 7:58PM
Andrenorton needs to stop napping and come out and play too.
c'mon rossi! man up and play your mage :) What are you gonna do, farm icc10 heroic on your 19th level 80 warrior instead?
Nipah Aug 18th 2010 10:06PM
It's a good thing I don't have access to the beta and the ability to stream my playing...
People would then realize how much I play WoW when my account is active, and assume I have no life outside the game.
Nioki Aug 23rd 2010 3:33PM
I think your guys' altoholism is showing.
Tim Aug 18th 2010 9:20PM
That would be a wonderful idea if they let u raise a dead beast to be your pet. Quickly now! before it fades away!
sherekhan88 Aug 19th 2010 5:49AM
It always completely slips my mind that Goblins can be Shamans! I mean, the mechanical totems feels a little weird...yet who am I to oppose the awesomeness that is Goblin Shamans :O
It's sorta tie between having a Horde or Ally Shaman. I don't want another spacegoat, but having a dwarf Shaman would be awesome too

Nice to see Rossi tearing it up as the... still.... level... 17....
.... nevermind. ;)
