I think if Hammer of the Righteous went back to its old design of hitting 3 targets, you'd see the forums swarming with paladins in a few weeks demanding some way to AE, such as... removing the cooldown on Consecrate again. There is no way to change the Prot paladin rotation up without changing some core abilities, and we are committed to changing the Prot rotation up.
We have some room to experiment with the proc rates for Grand Crusader, but remember that the more often it procs, the weaker it has to hit.

WOTLK, The infatuation with HAT was the bane of all the would be sub rogues. So sub rogues remain used for years so the devs could keep sub signature ability. HAT which was at one point good in a raid in a few unique situations but left the other 99.999 percent of the time player a sub rogue terrible.
That being said, just about every time I see a post about this is some spec "signature" is this one talent we can't change it, you can bet the farm the devs are hit by cupids arrow again and the game is going to suffer for it.

A lot of tinfoil hat speculation about how developers do their jobs and not much discussion on class design, which is the actual focus of this forum.
In the next beta build (or the one after that), you will see two important changes to Elemental shaman. First, you will use Lightning Shield (for damage!) instead of Water Shield. Second, you will want to use Earthquake for AE over Fire Nova. These changes, especially the former, will provide Elemental shaman with a bit of an upgrade in the rotation over what you're used to in LK.
I don't want to oversell it, because players have a tendency to imagine herds of glittering ponies when left to their own imaginations, but it should be a fun change.

Any quest that rewards experience to you will also reward guild experience. The amount of guild reputation earned is based on the amount of guild experience rewarded. Note that daily quests will also reward guild experience.
All guild reputation is gained as a factor of guild experience.

No. As I mentioned in the other post, anything that grants guild xp will also grant guild facton. So that means that winning a rated BG with your guild or completing specific guild achievments will reward faction as well as completing quests or killing instance bosses.

Ghostcrawler will be making better promises each day at this rate...until it becomes a cake, and therefore he was lying and gets a day off on promises.

If you get guild XP when you get normal XP, does that mean that the guild will no longer gain XP if the quest is completed when you're level capped?
Calaana Aug 18th 2010 10:17AM
When you hit level cap, the exp is converted into gold. I would guess that the guild xp would be based on the quest exp, not received exp.
Ie;
Quest complete => award guild exp => award gold and player exp
Helston Aug 18th 2010 10:28AM
What's more he's said that dailies give guild XP, which more or less implies that at the level cap you'll still gain guild XP.
Faith Trust Aug 18th 2010 10:49AM
I think the way it was worded, was that in order to gain guild xp, you needed 70% of your guild doing that thing with you, either being a daily bg, a raid, or an instance.
Killik Aug 18th 2010 4:31PM
@Hat I think you already know the answer to your question. Consider for a moment how capping guild XP like that would affect the game.

I've created a private Guild for my alts, so that i can share the Guild Bank between them and so my Bank Alt can clear some space.
I want to know how easy it'll be to level my guild with 3 Alts only adding to the Guild Exp.
Nipah Aug 18th 2010 8:03PM
This is a good question.
I have a guild for my alts, my brothers alts, and a friends alts, and its the same deal. It's mainly so we have a guild name (and so don't get harassed by "zomg, sign my charter!" crap), and because we don't want to bog our main guild down with 300+ alts.
However, I will be leveling my alts in my alt guild, and not my main... so I assume that I'll be screwed should I transfer them over to the main guild at any point.
*shrugs*
I suppose there's not a lot to do about it really... either level in the main guild and leave the alt guild as a bank guild, or level in the alt guild and suck up the fact that all your reputation will go *poof* when/if you transfer to the main guild.

So, over on MMO-C last night, one of the blue posts about Guild Leveling gave the "what constitutes a guild group" ratio for various group sizes:
"A guild group/raid is 4/5, 8/10, 12/15 or 20/25 members of the group/raid being guild members."
Most of that sounds pretty straightforward--5-man dungeons, 10/25 man raids--but something stood out at me as being kinda funny: unless it's a special PvP battleground size that I've missed because I don't PvP, what is a 15-man group for? New raid size in Cataclysm, perhaps? Or is it probably just a typo?
paul.giampaolo Aug 18th 2010 11:21AM
15 is probly for battlegrounds like EotS and AB
Boobah Aug 18th 2010 1:45PM
What interests me is whether it'll require that percentage of players in the party/raid, or whether it'll be at least, say, thirty some guildies to get credit for Molten Core, which can be done by two or three people in iLvl 200 gear, much less what we'll have at 85.
Khirsah Aug 19th 2010 2:36AM
I agree with Paul. I read that as the size of the group needed for AB, EotS or Strand. What about other BG's though? Based on those ratios, we'd be looking at 32/40 for AV or Isle. That seems like a lot.

Is there any chance that A druid's thorns could be changed similar to a shaman's lightning shield? I'd like to see it provide a useful dps buff and/or circle the druid all the time.
