WoW.com's Weekly Comic: Byron, the Tauren Rogue
Welcome to another edition of the WoW.com Weekly Comic, Byron the Tauren Rogue!
I apologize for the lateness, everyone! It won't happen again.
This is the beginning of the end of Byron. I won't spoil anything, but the story of our brave tauren rogue will be wrapping up in the next few weeks. There's lots more in store, though, so don't go far!
Also, I know that Ironforge guards are all male in game, but hey -- I'm progressive like that.
Check out the full version right here, and tune in next Tuesday morning for a new page. You can also see all the previous pages in the gallery below.

I'm pretty sure Ogrimar and the Night Elf capital have female guards. I guess Ironforge is just not as progressive as the rest of Azeroth :p
Quark1020 Aug 18th 2010 11:20PM
Yes, well, Night Elf capital guards are mostly female, making them also not as progressive.....just backwards
Dane Bramage Aug 18th 2010 2:22PM
been a great comic. something i look forward to each week. can't wait to see what ya come up with next.
one question tho... why did they leave the shield?
Prances in Underpantss Aug 18th 2010 4:31PM
I think they left it because his friends were the one that put him up to it, and they saw that he got it. He proved himself. If they kept it, the alliance would come looking, probably. Plus I'm sure the elders would not approve of it.
Oni Stardust Aug 18th 2010 2:27PM
That female guard looks really pretty in the second panel.
When you say "there's lot's more in store" dose that refer to the conclusion of this story or the starting of another?
If there's going to be another, could we maybe get some tiny hints on the plot? Like maybe some combination of the name, race, and/or class of the new main character?

cutie, the gnome druid
Duulket Aug 18th 2010 2:34PM
I would also like to know what the really tiny text says. I don't have photoshop installed to read it.
Urgata Aug 18th 2010 2:36PM
Tinkee, the pony-tailed gnome paladin.
Morbid Aug 18th 2010 2:41PM
It took me forever to make sense of what those 3 windows were at the last of the page. xD
Ringo Flinthammer Aug 18th 2010 2:43PM
There have been female Ironforge guards in the past and you can still find them in WoWModelviewer. I think they probably got lifted after the AQ war effort.

FYI very small text is bad. Zooming in doesn't help because the resolution isn't high enough, so the text just stays blurred.
What dose it say after "Shame what people put themselves though, but that doesn't matter right now." ?
Quark1020 Aug 18th 2010 11:28PM
That might have been the point, just tossing in the small text to mess with us.
There was a Dead Pool comic that did the same thing, it was a conversation between two voices in his head. Pissed me the hell off, but since it's a Dead Pool comic, If it was meant to be read, it'll be comments on what people would do to read small text....or something funny.
Oni Stardust Aug 18th 2010 3:05PM
Guys, I think the point of the tiny text is that it's not meant to be read. It's supposed to represent the words fading to the point where you can tell someone is talking but can't make out what they're saying.
Jorges Aug 19th 2010 11:08AM
Yeah, it is what the Gnome is hearing. Fading away until she faint... or dies, I don't know. It's common knowledge that you can't easily kill Gnomes. They always come back.
Hanak Aug 18th 2010 3:21PM
/me joins the crowd begging for a transcript of the really tiny text.
Sryii Aug 18th 2010 3:40PM
Holy cow, tiny text equals mass interest!
. . . and what?! Why is it ending? Say it ain't so!
Ok, well can the last couple be color? Pretty please?

So Kelly changed her mind about letting our heroes hearth out? :)
