#1 to the Wrathgate, I agree. I filled up for each of my 5 toons that have seen it.
Something that have I referenced many times is the Marshall Windsor quest line. There was a "walk through SW" in the presence of a hero that was epic, and, for the technology of the time, that fight in the throne room is right up there with the Wrathgate.
If you completed that SW quest on a character, Bolvar personally thanks that character as he runs past to save the day in the Mausoleum during the Wrathgate quest chain. Blizzard must have a legendary hero's place in their hearts for Bolvar, he has been a deciding factor in these two critical quest lines. At the end, he places Azeroth before himself and saves us all.
/salute to Bolvar Fordragon

Yeah, having done the Onyxia attunement as Alliance, and played human since WoW's launch, Bolvar always had a special place representing the human heroism. I had a lot of connection to the character doing the quests that lead up to the Wrathgate, then doing the battle itself was an emotional but fitting end to the character as I knew him. The following Battle of Undercity was also just as epic, and had the whole, "I can't really believe we're going to do this," vibe with it.
