Breakfast Topic: One is the loneliest number

There is nothing better than sharing a common interest with friends, but what happens when you find yourself alone in Azeroth for long period of time? You and your friends used to spend hours playing together, raiding or simply sharing idle banter in private messages or even the dreaded trade chat. But lately, it seems that you are the only person playing. Your friends, for a multitude of reasons, simply can't find the time to play anymore. Now you're alone in a big world with no one to talk to and nothing to take the edge off the quest grinding. So what do you do?
Guilds: a toon's best friend Whether it's on a RP, PvP, normal or mixed server, a guild can keep you entertained and chatting throughout that hard grind to 80. When you find yourself stranded in an area where there isn't another living soul in sight, it's always good to know that one /g away is a group of people who will, more often than not, love to hear how things are going, both in game and out. It's a warming feeling to see that the minute you log on, another person is there to greet you with a friendly "Hey, _____."
General and trade chat If a guild is not your thing, it's always nice to take a few minutes between quests to sit in a capital city and share in some banter with your fellow players. General chat is full of other players discussing either the game itself, movies, music or a multitude of other topics. Even trade chat can be fun if you keep up with the latest internet memes, though after a period of time, it came become annoying.
Roleplaying: not just for nerds Why not give the RP servers a try? Taking on the actual characteristics of your toon can be a new and rewarding experience for those who have never attempted it, not to mention that it's a great way to meet people and help break the monotony of leveling.
Just remember, in a game of over 11 million players, you're never truly alone. There are many things in the game itself, including other players, that can make being a solo WoW player enjoyable. How do you interact with others when solitude becomes a little too lonely?

I have to say I enjoy questing and soloing most of the time, but since meeting and joining a guild. The people around you show such crazy conversations, that playing isn't the only important thing....haha

"it's always nice to take a few minutes between quests to sit in a capital city and share in some banter with your fellow players."
That is the single most positive thing I've ever seen said about Trade Chat. You must have like an epic level glass-half-full personality.

Even more close to the attitude of someone who's just lost his arm, but hey! I still have my other arm! :D

Lol who can stand trade chat for more then a few minutes? I swear I don't know how some of those people are not banned based on half the things I see in trade chat. "There's no such thing as rape, just surprise sex!!"

But how do you GET a guild? I mean, sure there are plenty, but finding people you LIKE to talk to is tough? right? I can't be the only one... And then you are casual and kind of bad at raiding and you're like, is that going to cause problems?
So, maybe solo is the way to go?

Unfortunately on my server trade chat is not an option.
The moment you ask a question in Trade you get snarky remarks.
You ask for a Mage portal and straightaway you have people mimicking you asking for a Priest portal to Org while they are standing in Org.
Its rediculous.
I am not sure if it is just my server that is suffering like this with its group of immature players but I have noticed that you can not seem to make friends these days in WoW.
I have my 3 friends on this current server. I have tried making new friends but it is not possible.
LFG has lost the friends making that it used to have.
I miss the friendship that used to be spawned over a fail attempt at a random heroic due to too much chatter and not enough heals and tanking.
No seems to enjoy the joking about and the fun to be had ingame.
Everyone seems to be rude and it does not matter what you say whether it is a bit of advise or just a funny comment friends in WoW I think are a thing of the past.
So yes 1 is definitly the loneliest number.

What server do you play on? I really honestly want to know. :)
On all the servers I've been on, general/trade chat is nothing more than childish spamming, epeen flexing, and trash talking. Which is why I have that garbage turned off 99% of the time. In fact I'd go as far as to say I've never once seen an intelligent conversation in any public chat channel in the 2 years I've been playing.

I saw the image that went with this article and hoped that there would be tips on how to solo Magister's Terrace. Anybody have any? (besides the obvious, don't be a squishy)
