The Queue: Totally incepting you right now

Yeah, that's right. You're getting incepted so bad right now. The idea I'm incepting is "he's not using that term correctly at all."
Valorum asked:
I know it's hard to say because the cap is 83 right now, but is 80-85 intended to take about the same amount of time and work as 60-70 did and 70-80 did? For the beta testers, does 80-81, 81-82 and 82-83 feel like two levels at a time?
80-81 didn't take long for me; two hours, maybe. But then again, I was fully rested, and I was also rested until halfway through 81. There's no real way of avoiding it right now, since you automatically have a full rest bar when you log in. To put it into perspective, though, leveling from 82 to 83 takes 6.5 million experience; even with heavy questing in the appropriate zones, it's going to take a while. My bar barely moved when I turned in quests at 82.
Methuus asked:
All new mounts seem to have the ability to scale to your highest available riding speed. Has Bliz indicated whether old mounts will get this ability in Cataclysm? I'd love to get my Netherdrake out, but not if it's forever limited to 280% speed.
All mounts will scale to your maximum available riding speed, including ones you get prior to Cataclysm.
Matt asked:
I have seen a lot of information on all the other profession but slim to none on Leather working. What is going on there will there be any special item that will be a must need in cata?
We don't know much about several professions yet, including Leatherworking. They're not implemented in the beta yet.
Razion asked:
Hello, The Queue, couple questions for ya today!
1) Whatever happened to the whole lich class idea for WotLK? I was aware it was up on the drawing board for discussion [along with runemasters], but I don't really quite know what happened with the idea: why was it scrapped? Seeing as priests are to paladins as lichs are to death knights, is it possible we may see this gap filled at some point in the future? What's the word on liches as a playable class?
2) Has Blizzard commented on the concept of battle-magi, or were runemasters supposed to fulfill that role -- and what of them, for that matter? Why were they scrapped?
tl;dr: Why, exactly, were liches/runemasters scrapped to make way for death knights?
Put plainly, we know nearly nothing about how these classes would have worked, nor has Blizzard ever really gone into detail on the topic; we can assume that death knights were picked for a few reasons, though.
- Death knights had a thematic tie to Arthas, who was the expansion's main villain, making them instantly compelling.
- They fit the niche that Blizzard wanted to fill in Wrath: that is, plate-wearing DPS/tank.

...before they invent an 8th day of the week, so we can have (like the Beetles foretold) 8 days a week of The Queue lovin'..?

8 days a week, I lo-o-o-o-ove you;
8 days a week, is not enough to show I care;
Ooh I need your love, The Queue, 8 days a week!

What happens to the Timbermaw in Cataclysm?
Itanius Aug 22nd 2010 8:52PM
They love me in that tunnel!
Matthew Rossi Aug 22nd 2010 8:57PM
So far as I can tell they're still there in Timbermaw Hold. I leveled through Felwood/Winterspring on my worgen and even got up to friendly with them, their quests at the last time I checked were unchanged. But Felwood itself is clearly not done: there's goblin towns with no NPC's in them, for instance.
Vladeon Aug 22nd 2010 9:08PM
What about the main entrance to the timbermaws? You know, the one that's in Azshara that was completely barred up on live servers? is it still closed off or did they finally dig that out? I spent way too long working with those guys to get exalted, it'd be a shame if they didn't get any attention in cataclysm.
Orlan Aug 23rd 2010 8:07AM
Even if Timbermaw will be involved in Cataclysm, they'll have a new reputation faction. Blizzard has stated that no classic faction reputation will be helpful in 80-85 content.
Prances in Underpantss Aug 23rd 2010 8:59AM
@ Orlan
There won't be a new faction for the Timbermaw, since we will not be leveling through Azshara, Felwood, or Winterspring from 80-85.

I seem to remember hearing about racials being changed in Cata. Has there been any progress on that? I've been delaying on making my undead an orc anticipating upcoming changes.
Argojax Aug 22nd 2010 9:19PM
Nothing new yet for any of the old races so far.
Narshe Aug 22nd 2010 7:12PM
In Cataclysm, how many level 55 to 60 zones will there be in Azeroth? I know we have to go to Outlands eventually, but could a player complete all the 55-60 zones and get to maybe 62 or so before needing to head to OL?
wutsconflag Aug 22nd 2010 7:13PM
From experience, I can tell you that getting to 64 is (was?) possible without ever stepping foot into the Outlands currently.
Eldoron Aug 22nd 2010 7:53PM
Why would you NOT go to OL? I always went there with my alts when I reached 58. I know the lore, seen the quests with my main. And the first items on Outland are better than Tier2. Also, with the heirloom-mania nowadays (with the XP boost), I don't know why it's a good idea to remain on Azeroth.
Suzaku Aug 22nd 2010 9:01PM
Two have been announced so far: Blasted Lands and Silithus. There may be more, as they haven't decided on the new level ranges for some of the old zones yet.
Tim Aug 22nd 2010 8:54PM
I think what Narshe is trying to say is that in Cata, there will be all NEW quests and so going to OL at 58 to start doing all the quests us altoholics have done 1,000 times would be quite boring. I would like to know this also, so I could put it off as long as I could; maybe to hit OL at 65 or so and go to Nagrand and a few of the other higher levels before hitting Northrend again.
Narshe Aug 22nd 2010 9:29PM
@Tim, thats exactly what I mean. I cant wait to try out all the new quests and would like to see how long I can stay questing in Azeroth before moving onto something Ive done 10 times or more. Its not that I dislike OL, I loved it (Zangarmarsh and Nagrand are still better than any zone in Northrend) but I want something new.

Hellpigs and the Fel Reaver...do you really need more reasons not to go?
