The Queue: Yes, there will be mounts

Please, people. I beg you all, hold off on the mount questions for awhile. We have told you everything we know. Really. Ask us about anything else. Our lives have become naught but drakes, turtles and seahorses.
malytwotails asked:
"I haven't seen much (if anything!) about Cataclysm changes in Winterspring. Should I assume this is just a work in progress?"
Yep! The Cataclysm beta forums have a thread in which Blizzard poster Motive keeps track of zone status in the beta. Winterspring is currently marked as not ready for testing. It's also not marked as "in progress" either, so it will go hand in hand with Silithus as the final zones to receive any Cataclysm love.
Phoenix asked:
"The WoW.com staff seems to really like the new Silverpine Forest in Cataclysm. Why is that?"
Silverpine Forest continues what Wrath tried to start with the Forsaken at the Wrathgate. It shows that they're still a real force and a real threat. Sylvanas doesn't just sit around in her throne room. She directs the Forsaken's war on Gilneas personally. You see her out and about throughout the zone. Heck, Sylvanas escorts you from the top of the zone down to Sepulcher, telling you the history of the Forsaken, since you're still considered freshly risen. The zone really shows how cruel Sylvanas has become (and has been) and how she thinks the Forsaken should wage war. Combine that with a fantastic game of cat and mouse between the Forsaken and the Gilnean Rebels led by Lord Darius Crowley and a wide assortment of just plain fun quests ... it makes for a very engrossing zone. I did not feel level 15 while questing through Silverpine. I felt like a badass and an important part of what was happening.
As I've said again and again, the only downside to this zone is that the Alliance doesn't get to experience it. The Alliance should be able to see Crowley's wonderful exploits here, but they don't. It's unfortunate.
Omar asked:
"Is cooking implemented into the beta yet? What are the recipes like? Anything unique?"
Cooking is in but not complete, much like most things in the beta! There are actually a fun variety of things you can make in Cataclysm. The usual fish and meats, but also cookies, tea, espresso and fortune cookies that you need to work with a scribe to make. We don't do this very often in The Queue, but I'll just point you toward Kaliope's WoW Crafting Blog. All of the information is there, along with screenshots. Just make sure you come back to WoW.com when you're done there!
And that'll do it for The Queue today! This is what happens when you guys ask us about nothing but mounts. Also, it makes puppies cry. You wouldn't want to make Sylvanas cry, would you?

What happened to Forest Song in Cataclsym? And are the Draenei present at all in Ashenvale? It was really cool seeing them being added in TBC and I was hoping they didn’t decide to remove them.
Lansu Aug 23rd 2010 1:06PM
Forest Song and the Draenei are still there, and they're still messing with the Warsong Lumbermill orcs.
pietrex Aug 23rd 2010 1:06PM
Nothing has changed so far. All the draenei are still there.

Question for the Queue:
The guild I am in considers the content you have experience with for promotion to some of the lower ranks (for example, 'Champion of the Frozen Wastes'). They are considering switching to the 'Glory of the *various northrend* Raider'. So my question is, are the 'Glory of the *various northrend* Raider' achievements still attainable in the beta and has Blizzard said anything about them? While I am expecting that the related titles and mounts will be gone, perhaps as early as patch 4.0, I have no idea if those meta achievements will still be possible of if they are getting turned into feats of strength.
Helston Aug 23rd 2010 11:39AM
Chances are they'll still be possible. Probably a little easier once 4.0 hits, but still possible.
Tremelizzer Aug 23rd 2010 12:01PM
I'm fairly sure that achievements will remain but about rewards I'm not so sure. Especially the heroic dungeon reward, Red Proto-drake.

By that I mean you can purchase BoA items and send them to ANY of your character on that account as long as : Their name is unique among all your characters. They can be on any realm (of the same region, altho I haven't tried creating a toon on a oceanic server to try it)
Freak Mojo Aug 23rd 2010 1:47PM
So are the BoA heirloom items currently able to be sent to toons on different servers but same account?
I have a Horde PvP pally that I want to buy a chest piece for an Alliance PvE warlock.
Aarkan Aug 23rd 2010 5:13PM
I just tested this with some honor tokens like you said and it does NOT work cross-server. Cross faction same server works just fine but trying to send from my horde death knight on zul'jin to my alliance druid (or anyone) on dark iron does not work. It gives me the error: Cannot find mail recipient.

I didn't ask about mounts but I do have a mountish question. I have a fresh Horde warrior and I don't have any other horde toons. Will I be able to get the tome to learn flying at 68/70 or do I have to do all quests on foot/land mount until 80? If so that would suck mightily.
feniks9174 Aug 23rd 2010 11:14AM
The tome is BoA, so if you have an alliance character eligible to buy it on the same realm you can send it to your Horde alt.
Spiraea Aug 23rd 2010 11:26AM
Since when can we send BoA items across factions?!
Strabo Aug 23rd 2010 11:34AM
3.3
JKWood Aug 23rd 2010 11:30AM
I walked until 40.
Quit yer complainin.
flawless Aug 23rd 2010 11:41AM
@JKWood, you should check your keybinds for a Run/Walk toggle then. Everyone else ran until 40 :)
Oni Stardust Aug 23rd 2010 11:41AM
@Spiraea
I don't remember exactly when but that's been in for a while now. It's real convenient, and right now my Troll Hunter is wearing Heirlooms my Night Elf Rogue purchased.
Just keep in mind that heirlooms are the only thing you can send to your cross faction alts, so you can't pass on any cash or decent greens you've found.
Aloix Aug 23rd 2010 1:04PM
AND you CAN'T send xfaction to another account if you own more than one.
Jiffah Aug 23rd 2010 1:20PM
If your horde toon's name is unique among your toons, you can even send BoA across realms and factions. Don't trust and want to know for sure. Buy a Honor token (very cheap), and try it.
jslim419 Aug 23rd 2010 3:04PM
"Just keep in mind that heirlooms are the only thing you can send to your cross faction alts"
anything that is BOA can be mailed cross faction. that includes wintergrasp comms. which you can use 5 to buy an epic gem to sell on the AH. actually a lot faster, easier, and economical than the old gold transfers through the neutral AH's.

"If your horde toon's name is unique among your toons, you can even send BoA across realms and factions. Don't trust and want to know for sure. Buy a Honor token (very cheap), and try it. "
Don't try this. You can NOT send Bind to Account items across servers unless you transfer a character with the items to that server. You can only send them cross-faction.
