Breakfast Topic: I am the lucid dream

Anyway, some days later while we priests were tossing the PoM around, the subject came up again, and Kina quoted the line Halion says when you enter phase 2: "You will find only suffering in the realm of twilight. Enter if you dare." He gushed at the inflection on the word "suffering," while I stated my preference for the way he taunts you with, "Enter if you dare."
Our talk led to other memorable lines from Wrath. I immediately brought up Sara from Ulduar and quoted her haunting, "I am the lucid dream." Plus, who could forget a first visit to Ulduar? I remember my sleepy raid's wandering into the Antechamber around 1 a.m. the first night that patch 3.1 went live. After accidentally completing Crazy Cat Lady and distributing loot, we stood around deciding where to go next. Vent had gone quiet while we all tabbed out to read up on Hodir until a deafening scream cut through the silence of the Observation Ring. Everyone on Vent promptly freaked out: "What the hell was that!?!"
I loved it.
While on the topic of Ulduar, who can forget Rhonin's speech in Dalaran when you turn in the reply code. "It's up to each of us to prove this is a world worth saving! That our lives ... our lives are worth living!" he says, twisting his last words with more emotion than I'm used to hearing in this game. In Kina's words, "You know his voice actor must have stayed up late practicing that one."
As the conversation went on, I eventually confessed, "You know, I don't think I can actually remember anything Arthas said." I thought for a minute more on it, struggling to find a line from the many attempts my guilds put into heroic Lich King, but there was nothing. "Maybe it's because there is so much post work on his voice; I don't know why." "No, I agree. It's completely overdone," Kina replied.
I wonder if I'm the only one who found nothing haunting about Arthas' voice? It just seemed much more appropriate for something like ... house music. Even the bite of his sarcasm ("Shall I lay down Frostmourne and throw myself at your mercy, Fordring?") disappears into all the synthesizing. By the time he revealed his master plan, it all felt so cliché.
So what were your favorite lines and voices from Wrath? What did you think of Arthas? How much did Sindragosa make you want to punch something?

"Rise, minions! DEVOUR!"
Anub'arak in TotC. I just love the way he says 'devour'.
Also: "A lone orc?!" makes me laugh every time. I feel bad for Horde players never getting to hear it :P

Hahaha.....
Dwarves.
I don't know why, but whenever I do Black Temple or even think of Illidan, I always hear in the back of my head the darkend and corrupted like voice saying:
"Behold the flames of Azzinoth!"

Sorry I didn't realise it was wrath voices, I apologise, my favorite line in wrath?
"You speak of justice? Of cowardice? I will show you the justice of the grave...and the true meaning....of FEAR."
It's such a perfect line for Arthas

That one line of Anub'arak's sticks in my head horribly. Comes of having wiped on him faaaar to often.

My favorite quote is probably from Mr Scourgelord Tyrannus in POS
"Alas, brave, brave adventurers..." and so on
and I always lol a bit when he gets to the part about the rabble :P

"Men, women, and children: None were spared the master's wrath. Your death will be no different."
-Falric, Halls of Reflection. Absolutely perfect intonation with an accent that just makes it wondrously evil.
A few other good ones I remember:
"Even the darkest memories fades when confronted"
"Hammer! Of. The. Righteous!"
"I... am released"
"I see... only darkness" (said by Marrowgar and Arthas, strangely enough)
"I am the greatest of my father's sons!"
"Did you think we had forgotten? Did you think we had forgiven?"'
"You have been measured; and found wanting."

"You might want to take cover..."
Followed by that not-quite-evil little chuckle of his. Mimiron has some of the best lines ever.
As for Arthas, the actor does sound better without the super-fancy special effects. The cinematic when he dies is probably the best.

I like the that Crazy cat lady screams, there aren't many satisfying screams in game, also, i like sindragosa, espcially her 'Do you feel the cold hand of death upon your heart?'
Sqtsquish Aug 25th 2010 2:56PM
YOU HAVE FOUGHT HARD TO INVADE THE REALM OF THE HARVESTER!!!!!
Desmentia Aug 25th 2010 8:42PM
"Mimiron has some of the best lines ever."
Ulduar in general was pretty awesome for that.
"Wait, you! *I* reMEMber you... inTheMountains."
"Now WHY would you go and do something like that??"
"Wait, I can fix that... or... maybe not. Sheesh, what a mess!"
"OOO, NEW TOYS FOR MEEEEEEE?
CDave Aug 25th 2010 11:10PM
"Let them come... FROSTMOURNE HUNGERS!!"
I still get chills everytime I see the end of the trailer; Terenas' speech, all the souls in the sword and the shots of ICC, then the silence as he draws the sword... epic. That trailer is my favorite WoW movie of all time, hands down.
Shadda Aug 26th 2010 1:26AM
"By my own beard!"
Still makes me laugh every time :)
Shadda Aug 26th 2010 1:32AM
Though of course Lord Marrowgar's "I see... only darkness..." is interesting too, just because of the way it's echoed later by Arthas.
Babaloo Aug 25th 2010 8:05AM
Loken's lines in HoL are stuck in my head. It's just so long and stupidly cliché that I can't forget it. :(
Killik Aug 25th 2010 8:07AM
That speech always reminds me of Blade Runner. "I've seen things you people wouldn't believe!"
Zhadok Aug 25th 2010 8:06AM
"Bone Stoorm!" is definitely among my favorites.
Noselacri Aug 25th 2010 8:36AM
Good news everyone!
Dreamstorm Aug 25th 2010 8:57AM
"You know what they say about curiosity...!"
Toadstool Aug 25th 2010 9:10AM
Rotface in ICC is pure comedy, every time we agro him i always shout WEEEEEEEE! how many other bosses are so happy to see you :D
SamLowry Aug 25th 2010 10:49AM
The "You know what they say" always comes out louder than the rest of the line, so the first time I heard that incomplete line I assumed it was a reference to the old hair coloring commercial, and seeing she's a blonde I typed the reply "Does the carpet match the drapes?"
