The very first mod brought into the core UI was an element of the venerable CTMod during one of the very first pushes of alpha. (I think it might have even been the dwarf push, which was the second push of alpha.)It was the ability to queue up several profession combines at once. Prior to this being available in CTMod, players had to click each combine individually, which was a real pain in the butt, especially for people skilling up with massive quantities of supplies. (There wasn't much else to do when the level cap was around level 25 and the Wetlands was endgame content.)It's to Blizzard's credit that they have openly used the mod community as a UI improvement crowdsourcing community from the very beginning.
