I enjoy your optimism there fox, at the very least it give me the point of view that what I am about to say could be just QQ XD.
Personally I am not liking the shadow priest changes. That's my opinion about it, you don't have to agree with it, but I can tell you why.
Too many pvp powers. You think paralysis, phantasm, and sin and punishment are neat. The truth is they are neat for a pvp shadow priest. But as a pve shadow priest there talents provide nothing beyond gimmick situations. You have a mob running loose even paralysis isn't going to stop his rampage in time unless you RNG him the setup for the ability is 4 seconds, that only hold him for 4 seconds. Also what mob in Cataclysm is going to dispel my dots? At least 1?
Next would be that there are too many abilities tied to Mind blast. In the beta, we now have 5 uses for this ability. Snares, replenishment, nuke, mastery, and MS. It is an ability that is going to be a nightmare to balance. Why can't these abilities be shuffled around? Mind blast isn't the only ability we have.
Last but not least, twisted faith is 2% hit. All that work to remove the abilities only to bring them back and not do anything to change them. QQ probably, but I was under the impression that the whole reason for this new tree was to scrap such talents, not bring them back in another form
Now that my QQ is out of the way, I do enjoy shadow apparitions, but the numbers need tweaking, because at the moment they only do 1% of our damage.
Am I excited for shadow priests? Let's just say I am hopeful for them.
