WoW.com's Weekly Comic: Byron, the Tauren Rogue
Welcome to another edition of the WoW.com Weekly Comic, Byron the Tauren Rogue!
Well, here we are: the end of Byron. Our story ends with Byron, the bovine hero, watching a raid take place upon the ever-assaulted Crossroads. He has chosen his path but swears to use it to protect those who need to be protected. He is now one with the shadows, always watching over his beloved Horde.
I wanted to thank all of you for sticking with this story from the beginning. While I'll be the first to admit it got off to quite a rocky start, I feel that this comic has evolved a lot, and I'm ultimately happy with where it led. Next week, I'll be featuring an article which, among other things, will be an overview of the entire series. I'll talk about the characters, the story, the writing and many other points. I hope to see you all back again!
For those who are worried -- don't worry, I'm not going anywhere. I'm taking a small, two-week break to write the next story and pen out a couple of fun little Byron-related goodies. Byron may come back one day, as this next story will be completely unrelated, but who knows?
From the Byron crew, we all thank you for reading. Take care!
Check out the full version right here, and tune in next Tuesday morning for a new page. You can also see all the previous pages in the gallery below.

Huzzah for Byron! Well-told story.

Great story.... but... uh... what's going on in the last page? It feels like I missed a page... but I didn't. Perhaps someone could point out the obvious for me without being a total jerk? :p

Natsumi, Kelly explains it in her post. I could recap it, but she does a better job.

Sad Face.

Thank you for a wonderful series, Kelly. I enjoyed it very much. I look forward to the wrap-up post and then to the next series. Best wishes and much inspiration to you.

Thanks for the story! I got started with Byron a little late, but I enjoyed it. I look forward to your next tail (snicker) and I can't wait for the next woweh!

This has been the highlight of Tuesday for quite some time. I look forward to your next production.

Excellent series and, yes, a high point of my Tuesdays. Thanks for sharing Kelly. :)

Thanks Kelly, enjoyed Byron's story!
May I make a suggestion about the next comic?
Byron was great, but I feel the "one page a week" format hindered the story. Since only so much can happen on one page, some weeks felt pretty uneventful and too short. Like you were cut off mid-sentence.
This might not jive with the WoW.com staff, but I would suggest taking your time completing a new comic. The whole thing. We would go without any comics for however long that takes. Once it's ready, we get one page a day, perhaps sometime in the morning along with the Breakfast topic. I think this would go a long way towards making sure the story keeps its momentum.
Anyway, just my two cents on the matter.

Thanks for Byron, Kelly. I look forward to seeing what you come up with next.

It was a fun ride. It started off a little rough, but found its footing and finished strong. Overall, a cool little comic and something that brightened my Tuesdays.

Ooh, I love those overview things. Especially when the author talks about things like what they were going for with certain characters/plot points, what ideas they originally had that had to be changed/scrapped, or what other works or characters inspired them. Basically the deeper I can get into the author's mind and the thought process behind the story the better.
Congratulations on finishing a good comic, Kelly. And thank you for sharing it with the rest of us. I look forward to seeing your next wow.com comic. I'm kind of hoping for something Alliance centered since the first one was Horde, but anything would be fine really. With your level of art skill and story telling ability you could make a story about a Goblin and a Gnome in a staring contest and we'd still all be tuning in each week in anticipation of what's going to happen next.
Cadychan Aug 31st 2010 2:39PM
As a small hint, the next comic is actually going to be more Alliance-centered, but will still have Horde elements.
I'm glad you liked the story, and stay tuned for the retrospective article next week!
jishdefish Aug 31st 2010 2:40PM
Alliance oriented? You mean like...
Priunaa the Draenei Rogue?
Just kidding, just kidding.
A very well done series, Kelly. You did a great job at establishing the characters and teaching a lesson to Byron that a rogue isn't just about sneaking around and stealing shields. I really enjoyed it, and hope to be just as enthused about your next venture. I am a bit sad to see my favorite bovine bloodbath go though.
To Kelly! Huzzah!

That makes me so happy to hear Anne. :)
I'm a leetle bit confused about what is going on in that picture. Sorry, I'm slow. Can anyone enlighten. Is this a raid?

I was just listining to All things Azeroth and had a letter refering to Anne in mind. I know you are KELLY - Not Anne! /headdesk
It just so happens you are two of my favorite wow.com peeps so it is a compliment.

good stuff all around. hope you gift us with another story in the future.
Falcon6 Aug 31st 2010 2:09PM
Nice stuff. I can't wait to see what your next story will be.
deathpool1984 Aug 31st 2010 2:27PM
For the next comic...I vote for Brutus the Gnome Shaman :O Then after that, another mix matched race/class miscreant and a wrap-up comic where those confused toon's go on a raid (mixed faction raid would be an awesome story)!
