Yeah, nature spell damage affected warriors thunderclap too. Didn't mean it was smart for them to do so though.

yep. back in the day arcane shot and volley were both augmented off spell power. As unbelievable as it is to most people today, one need only look at the stats from the AQ-40 tier 2.5 armor set for hunters: It had both Spirit and Spellpower on nearly every piece.
I remember when Neltharion's Tear was IMBA as hell for raiding hunters. Arcane shots that crit for 2500 in an age when the avg high-end HP was 4400. Ah the good old days...

Any real hunter knows that Arcane Shot shared a cooldown with Aimed Shot at the time and that we weren't allowed to use Serpent Sting in the first place due to an issue with a maximum number of debuffs/dots on bosses at the time
least if I remember right, its been some years

Depends, there were Arcane Hunters that would Arcane Shot you for 2-4k back then, with the much smaller health pools that was effectively 1 shotting most people. Hard to say it was stupid of them to so, but only if they stacked Arcane and Spell Damage. :p
