Keith is right, here it is again!2) Don't assume that a profession is your only source of income. You can do very well by finding niche markets and taking advantage of routine, weekly price fluctuations. Perhaps you know the herb market well. Do you know this market routinely fluctuates? If you see an herb for LESS THAN 1g (NR herbs), sell, and repost for 1.5g each. Adders tongue, icethorn, and lichbloom (esp latter) is worth more than the typical NR herbs, which I see on many servers for 1g each. I see LB for 2g routinely, or more. There is a constant demand for herbs for the very reason of inscription, and when the cataclysm patch hits, herbs are going to become quite rare. JC can be a great source, esp when linked with alchemy...but you didn't level it! Do dailies for gold for now, get JC up, learn a few useful gem patterns. JC is a money sink until near cap, so expect that going in, unless you have a toon that can mine. (Or just level it to 400ish and get ready for cataclysm, that works, but JC is #2 on profitability right now)3) Raid material market, I can only assume is dying (along with just about everything else right now). I wouldn't advice getting into this market right now, but get ready for cataclysm, when it will become (VERY) profitable. What I commonly see is "i don't really care that much about making gold, and if selling my max level profession stuff isn't making gold, I don't know what else to do". That's cool and fine. Here are some tips that most of us AH guys know.Just off the top of my head:1) dailies (about 300g/hr)2) farming herbs/ore (quite variable, ie herbs are good right now), 3) farming specific drops (ie eternals)4) crafting rare recipes (you do know that every profession has some hard to find, valuable recipes, right?)5) selling recipes themselves (this is a huge source for me)6) selling fish7) selling uncooked/cooked foodAll these are pretty painless and straightforward high return/low risk. Essentially money like anything else in MMO is a time sink. If you put in the effort, you will become wealthy. Those who become very wealthy have put in a TON of time to get there. Dont' think you can wave a wand and become instantly wealthy.
