Can't say I'm surprised it's going away as a raid, although I'm sorry to see it go. Hopefully they will tune up the mount drop rate for those of us who have been farming it for the mount and have had bad dice. It's not as if you can farm it ad nauseum until you get what you're after, as you can for the Baron's mount in Stratholme (the fact that the Baron mount is going away doesn't bother me since people who truly wanted one have had years of time and no raid lockout to contend with).
But there is still a chance the mounts will be obtainable. The post indicates ZG will no longer be a raid instance, not that it's going to be going away entirely. If they converted the instance to a 5 man dungeon the mounts could still be left on the loot table.
Here's hoping that's what the blue post meant and not that ZG will only exist as the instanced version you enter briefly while questing in the revamped Stranglethorn Vale.
