The Queue: The corner of Elizabeth and Harper

Apparently, this intersection exists in Canada. Who knew? Thanks for alerting us, Task!
Pieet asked:
"Since Tanaris will be (mostly) underwater in Cataclysm, what will happen to the Noggenfogger Elixir? Is the NPC still there?"
I am a foolish fool and never checked if you can still purchase the Noggenfogger Elixir. Beta realms are also down as I write this, so I can't fly over there and check. Wowhead is also down as I write this. The world is making it very difficult to adequately answer your question, Pieet. I'm fairly certain you can still get your hands on Noggenfogger Elixirs in Cataclysm, but I can't make any promises.
I do know that Marin Noggenfogger has put to good use the money he's made from selling his elixirs to random adventurers. He has became the Baron of Gadgetzan, the desert equivalent of Booty Bay's Baron Revilgaz. Also, Tanaris isn't actually mostly underwater. Only the northeast corner of the zone has sunk into the ocean; the rest of it is as dry as ever. If you want to see what it looks like in Cataclysm, just check out the gallery at the very end of this post.
Darky asked:
"How many Queues would a QQer queue if a QQer could make Queues?"
All of them. Every Queue. And every Q, too.
Beruza asked:
"What would a cloth-wearing melee class be called? Do you think Blizzard would ever implement one?"
I remember hearing about the earliest incarnations of the priest class, way back in the Warcraft alpha. Priests had a few melee strikes, and that's how they were supposed to DPS before the addition of spells like Smite and Holy Fire. I can't confirm that because I wasn't actually in the alpha, but it makes sense, considering some of the abilities priests had at the game's launch. Inner Fire added attack power and human priests had the Feedback racial, which was a weapon buff that sapped mana on melee swing. It would also explain why the game launched with so much agility on cloth armor.
If it's true that priests were originally a melee class, Blizzard must have decided against it for a reason. If Blizzard were to approach the idea again, we would probably see it in the form of a monk class. The Diablo 3 monk is pretty slick. I'm sure Blizzard could pull great inspiration from there, even if it would need to come up with a new aesthetic style for them in WoW. I find it unlikely that this will ever be done, however. Imagine the stat conversions that would be needed for that to work.

Melee cloth class - called 'Cannon fodder' or 'that idiot' usually :)
Arbolamante Sep 1st 2010 11:46AM
Well, probably we'd be talking Bruce Lee, not Hulk Hogan, where the cloth melee class would depend on very high levels of dodge and parry as opposed to armor. But it would have to have really cool animations. How about back flips in combat when you dodge a crushing blow?

The cloth melee class has been called "redshirt" for at least 20 years now.
DeathPaladin Sep 1st 2010 1:25PM
My term for it is "Levelling Affliction"
On live, Affliction Warlocks basically have a passive ability that gives them approximately infinity health and mana as long as they keep casting spells. Obviously this ability is disabled in instances and while PvPing so as not to be overpowered.

Bah. A cloth melee class would totally rock. I would love to play a Monk. Of course, the would have to use Chuck Norris as the template...
... on second thought, that would make a boring game because he could just roundhouse kick Deathwing back to the Elemental planes. His beard would then bitch slap Garrosh Hellscream and make him cry for Thrall to ask the nice man's beard to stop kicking his green ass so much. Monks based of him would One shot Tol Barad. All of it. At once.

I'm going with Ninja's. Not loot thieves, but actual, bad-ass, black clad Ninja's.
Xeton Sep 1st 2010 1:58PM
@galestrom
Yeah! I can see it, they sneak around, using daggers or swords, assinating people, fighting head on, or being stealthy.. They could use a resource that is always regenerating, too!...owait....

Like a rogue?

Stat conversion would be easy, have a talent called 'Knowledge is Power' that converts Int to atk just like for shammies.
HeartOfTheSwarmBeta Sep 2nd 2010 12:20AM
@DeathPaladin - You best be trollin', cause no such spell exists
Wulfkin Sep 2nd 2010 3:37AM
I would love it if WoW got a Monk class, it was my favourite in Everquest by a long shot.
However, I would imagine it more likely to take the form of a leather-wearer than cloth. I'd also hope for it to have more of a WoW feel to it than generic 'monk'. My vote would be for Brewmaster, but Runemaster is a good choice too.
sherekhan88 Sep 2nd 2010 4:40AM
I was thinking, the "SUPER GLASS CANNON" as a melee-cloth class.
Aidan Sep 2nd 2010 2:22PM
Melee cloth class would be called "Demon Hunter", imo.

@HeartOfTheSwarmBeta: Have you heard of this spell Haunt? Between that, Siphon Life-d Corruption, the assorted Corruption Damage/crit-boosting talents, and the two other DoTs I can toss at a mob, when Haunt drops off them, I'm typically healed to full health, if not more so. With a well-timed Life Tap, I finish every single pull at full health and mana, and every multi-pull at nearly that.
True, not exactly "infinity health", but at many times it does seem that way.
Note: if I knew how to properly link spells/talents from Wowhead, I'd be doing so, but the Corruption-boosters are:
Contagion +5% damage
Empowered Corruption: +damage = 36% of Spell Power
Everlasting Affliction: +5% bonus spell damage, Corruption is reset by Drain Life/Soul, Shadow Bolt & Haunt
Grim Reach: +20% Range for Aff spells
Improved Corruption: +10% Damage
Melediction: +3% spell damage, +9% periodic Crit chance
Pandemic: Periodic ticks crit for 100% increased damage
Shadow Embrace: Shadow Bolt/Haunt increases all shadow periodic damage by 5%
Siphon Life: Heals for 40% of Corruption's damage, +5% damage
Suppression: -6% mana cost for aff spells

Will we finally be able to loot Mr. Smite's chest in the new Deadmines in Cata? Or does it even still exist?
Scooter Sep 1st 2010 11:31AM
"Captain" Cookie Looted it. It disappeared. Respawn time is set for the next expansion.

Question for the Queue:
This is a follow up question from the recent announcement that ZG will be gone as a raid instance come Cata:
Will the ZG mounts still be available by other means?
bui Sep 1st 2010 11:26AM
This too I must know.. After 5 years, yes thats right 5 years, from the opening of ZG I have tried for that blasted tiger and never one have I seen it so will I be able to keep on keeping on or am I now going to have to bash my head into a wall for all the wasted effort?
Scooter Sep 1st 2010 11:41AM
They are either going to be gone or purchasable with the right faction rep like the red drake or ice mammoths.
Odd's are they will be gone. Blizzard has a habit of keeping rare mounts as rare as possible. The only time they ever expressed anything different was with the upset over black and plagued proto-drakes.
The whole point of the old rare mounts was to be enticing to players. They aren't a reward for hard work they are lures to get you to keep playing the game. That's why the drop rates are 1 in every 10k players and most of the time people only get them when they aren't even looking.
Congrats if you find one, the odds certainly are against you.
SunGod228 Sep 1st 2010 11:42AM
I hope they do something to keep them around. And I am optimistic since they seemed so unhappy that they had pulled the plagued and black protodrakes.
