Breakfast Topic: Are you a hoarder?

It began innocently enough. My first toon was a druid who, like all druids, started collecting off sets. As the soulbound epics began to pile up, I rolled a bank alt to store the herbs and other sundry BoE items she amassed. And then I started collecting alts. And professions. And materials to level just about anything you could imagine, from reputation to first aid. Before I could intervene, the bank alt formed her own guild simply to manage the inventory.
On impulse one day, I decided the hoarding was too much. How many Bone Fragments does anyone really need, after all? Over the next few weeks, I auctioned off every item not directly related to profitable endgame crafting, making a substantial amount of gold in the process. There was order and storage and sanity -- until the turtle mount obsession kicked in. Maybe it's just me, but I'm incapable of vendoring potentially useful materials. Potions of Speed sell nicely, but not as quickly as the aptly named Pygmy Suckerfish float in, and a thousand hours of Guru's Elixir seems a tad excessive even for nine alts.
Do you too have a hoarding problem? Glacial Bags across the board filled with complete tier sets from every level? Rare materials of dubious value looted while getting Loremaster? Stacks of epic gems you can't auction off rapidly enough? Fel Armaments in case someday you might want to become exalted with Aldor? Rows of Northsea Pearls you have no idea what to do with? Am I really the only person whose fifth guild bank tab is given over to something as questionable as Pygmy Oil?

And, incidentally, the name of my bank guild.

Good lord that's one small gnome possibility...

As soon as my Druid reaches the appropriate alchemy level, I will finally be able to get rid of all those pygmy suckerfish and pygmy oil!! I can't wait! It should happen this week some time.
And yeah, I have Fel Armaments up the wazoo, because someday, I will get [Shattrath Divided] on my main. His bank is completely full of stuff gained from holiday events, leather, and items needed to gain reputation (Sporregar, for one)
Northsea Pearls actually sell decently on the AH. Once I get a stack, I auction them all off.
Someday, when I finish leveling all my alts and their professions, I will get back on my main and finish Loremaster and get exalted in many reputations. And then I will get rid of all the white items I have collected (thinking I just might need them someday), because that stuff takes up a ton of space. A lot of those items only stack to 5 or 10.

I admit, I do have a problem with hoarding things. Specifically, RP gear and weapons. I have 2-3 outfits I like my character to wear, but 10-odd more in the guild vault which I keep "just in case".

Whoops. Wrote guild vault. Meant my bank. We've had some trouble with the guild vault recently due to guild leader changing, so it lingered in my mind.

My main's not even on an RP server, but she has pieces of almost every old Tier set (one away from a complete t1 now) and random fun sets like the Postmaster, Dungeon 1.5 or however it's numbered, and of course all those fun items and trinkets from world events/Scourge invasion.
I have all 20+ slot bags in both my bank and on my person, but I'm still really short on gear with my PvP set, Tank set, and extra gear I always have to carry on me. I'd get rid of some of it but you never know when something will be removed from the game, aka t3.

I'm exactly the same way. To the extent that I've never sold or DEed any epic I can equip on my main (a warlock). I have a set for every holiday, as well as any item with a cool model, or vaguely interesting effect, or any sort of sentimental value (I still have my carrot on a stick).
I've got a similar problem in RL, my room is full (literally no floorspace) of piles of pictures I've drawn from years ago that I can't bring myself to throw away.

I have 28 robes for RP.... 28... Just for you know. Every dress and outfit combination I could ever want... But that's just Chest pieces... Gloves and boots... Oh no... Now I have to check what to get rid of!
Nathanyel Sep 5th 2010 8:23AM
My main has 4 Portable Holes, 22-bags in every bank slot and still inventory problems (Cat set, Bear set, PvP set, Herald set, several trinkets and style weapons)
Got 3 character that are primarily bank chars, each with its own guild and bank, two with two tabs, one with tree... and they're usually rather full. The third guild bank was created solemnly for storing runecloth and netherweave (in case you can push your reputation with Bilgewater with those)
Oh and I heavily use the 30+30 day mail "storage"...
Nathanyel Sep 5th 2010 8:27AM
PS: my main's bank is filled with all kinds of BoP stuff, from the understandable old sets, to stuff like Words of the High Chief http://www.wowhead.com/item=13158 and Letter from Shattrath http://www.wowhead.com/item=31698
...and of course Fel Tracker Owner's Manual http://www.wowhead.com/item=10832

Oh yeah, I'm a hoarder. Five guild bank slots all for my bank alt, got all my main's bank slots - and he barely has any room to store anything in.
Don't you love it when you see [Elune Stone] and think, "I haven't used that in AGES, but... I better keep it just in case!"
Nathanyel Sep 5th 2010 8:29AM
Exactly! I even have 3 additional copies of Frenzyheart Brew http://www.wowhead.com/item=44719 in case they ever make that Bind on Use...
Onebaddude Sep 5th 2010 8:27AM
I was in the exactly the dame positioning about a year ago. I certainly didn't have as many items as you, but it was enough junk that had it been RL I would have to have rented a warehouse to stow it all. You are so right about bone shards :)

At least we are likely to be getting new craftable bags, and I understand two more guild bank tabs come cataclysm.
While I think some of those may initially still have some demand due to levelling alts, it will be a good idea to shift them sooner rather than later, due to flying in azeroth the farming, so the supply of those materials will rocket literally.
Plus you need room for all the new stuff you are going to get.
pfl.guy Sep 5th 2010 8:34AM
Tabards...27 to date. Meats...an entire bank tab full. Gear sets, rep item, cool stuff that i've fished up, unusual or hard to find mats, stack after stack of cloth. Two storage guild tabs of herbs (for a rainy day), and on and on.
I'd have more stuff if i had more alts and more space.
tamingoftheshrew Sep 5th 2010 8:36AM
Meh. I'm kind of the opposite.
*sellsellsellsellsell*
A few hours later.
"Gah. I needed that stuff."
Darky Sep 5th 2010 9:34AM
I keep every epic weapon i get on my characters, especially the ones that either took me forever to get or looks epic.
Darky Sep 5th 2010 9:38AM
Wrong reply wooooooops >_< meant for it to reply to styopa heh, but I'm constantly buying and selling matts and potions, I can't help but sell my frost badges simply due to the fact I want to be able to get 310% flying the second it comes out and im not that crash hot at getting money >_>'
