Christian Chase, usually QQ posts like these are posted in the official forums rather than on wow.com.
Much of what you are saying seems to be of the variety "My class is getting some spells nerfed - this is bad for my class and thus bad". You are ignoring the big picture, both in terms of all other spells getting changed/buffed/newly introduced and just focusing on the nerfs. Every major revamp, such as the one all classes are getting for Cata, will include nerfs, buffs, removals and additions in a wide variety. If you want your post to be taken seriously, please look at the big picture. Especially if you want to compare with other classes, as you are doing in your post (coming to the usual wow forum conclusing that some of your spells are worse than some random other spell of comparable classes, thus your class is worse off than the other - again, you have to look at the big picture or it is all just QQ).
Secondly, if you do look at the big picture, you will probably find that mana is going to be more scarce. Because that is precisely what Blizzard has stated as their intent. if you don't like that, focus your complaint on the design philosophy, not on the way they are (apparently successfully) going about achieving this goal (nerfing mana for all healers in this case)
As a side note, stating that " Priests get Evangelism and Archangel to help their blue bar stay full when they cast Smite" in relation to "providing throughput and regeneration at the same time" is to distort things, since Smite is doing damage and thus (since we are talking healers here) if you spend time casting it you have no healing throughput at all.

Sorry, your name is Chase Christian, not the other way around. My apologies, I didn't realize that until now. May have gotten confused by reading a Christian Belt article just before :)

Holy paladins now have the worst mana regeneration mechanic in the entire game. There's no question here. Innervate is stronger AND can be used on other players. Mana Tide Totem is the same strength, except it actually gives that to 5 people, making it 5x effective. Shadowfiend... well it sucks, but still returns more mana. Shamans still get Improved Water Shield, etc.
I'm saying that if they intend to make mana regeneration balanced, holy paladins are going to need a buff. Or, they can bake in some extra regeneration for us, which will suck for balancing later. If heals cost around the same value and we all have similar-sized mana pools, holy paladins are going to fall behind. I'm voicing my concerns about a spell that quite honestly needs to be changed. I've never said that the class is broken or will be unplayable, simply that there is some rebalancing needed. I'd keep playing the holy paladin even if Divine Plea were gone completely, but I'd still complain about it.
