The FAR TOO EARLY announcement near the beginning of the year created an influx of Gnome RP and Guilds. Hopefully at least some survived!
Get your Bonechoppers out lads, it's Trogg Stompin' Time!

Second that notion. The damn announcement was waaaaaaay to early. At the very least they could have had some kind of lead up into it (assuming what we got isn't that very thing). I'm gonna be disappointed if the whole thing lasts an afternoon and that's it.
I'll admin the announcement kept me interested in wow for another month(thanks in part to WoW.com's coverage), but seriously there is a whole heap of fun I'm expecting and I'm expecting several days worth.

You will be disappointed, horde side lasted about 30 min for me with 15 min of waiting around.
Well maybe you won't be disappointed, but I sure was.

If I had to give one piece of advice to those gnome RP guilds, I'd say to WAIT to do this for the furor to die down. You'll want to do this together, and you'll want to enjoy the experience. You won't get that with 120 lvl80 characters cluttering the field, throwing out so much AoE even the beefiest PCs weep for mercy.
