You can't go for a walk down memory lane without stopping to enjoy Boomdeyada WoW. Originally created as an entry for a contest, Boomdeyada WoW has taken on a life of its own. This epic machinima by Irdeen Productions has achieved well over a million views on YouTube and continues to grow with every week.
Boomdeyada WoW does more than just parody the Discovery Channel's video. It celebrates the world of Azeroth with its viewer, throwing both punchlines and gentle jabs at our own community. It's a video that loves its subject and the rest of the world. I think if I had my way, I'd open up BlizzCon with a view of the video. I've not seen many single videos that shares so much enjoyment in just a few minutes.Interested in the wide world of machinima? We have new movies every weekday here on WoW Moviewatch! Have suggestions for machinima we ought to feature? Toss us an email at machinima@wow.com.
He starts the post with "Trip down memory lane" which kind of says this is going to be an old vid. But you can not deny the fact that it is one of the best vids ever made, if only for its sheer catchyness (is that a word?)
Truer words never spoken! I always find something I didn't notice before that makes me smile when I watch this one. This time it was the crab! Sing it Barnaby!
Things that make this vid the bestest ever! (in no particular order):
"I love being Immortal! gah *falls*" The Fel Reaver stepping on the Boom De Yada singers "I want to be Warchief *punch*" The singing Oracles (truly epic by themselves, making them sing is legendary) Archamond tree-humping in not one but two hungry Jor... I mean scenes The dancing Human in the Deadmines while the Defias cries Gandling clucking like a chicken Dwarf butt slapping Mechatorque being ignored by the Horde Raid Draenei crash landing Flying Boomkin "My name is Lor'thremar. Who?"
i know we all knew about cata when this vid came out, so we were aware that the world was being changed in some major ways.... but something about seeing the race track at the end /really/ hit me with "wow, that's never going to be seen again in just a couple months"
lol, i've never enjoyed questing in shimmering flats, but now may be a good time to take a toon out there and quest one more time :)
Except that one isn't really.... funny. Also, it's got less production values, music, and on key singing. Not to trash your favorites, just saying, as someone that does this sort of thing, it's very basic and repetitive (especially the music) and is a bit too long. Humor, better music, and autotune (used properly, not like most people use it) wopuld go a long way to making that better.

Hasn't this been featured for like two times already? Can't you feature a new video, like Melvenor's new vid?

Ya know, you're right. This has shown up here WAY too often. They need to show something new, something fresh!
I've heard about this real neat-o video called "Blind." I betcha that one would be good. They should post that one!

Classic, and remember..
Not everyone has been to WoW.com before, so to some it's new, news.
Hellothar Sep 8th 2010 1:20PM
Well, that just made me happy.

I kinda like this version of the Boom-de-yada WoW concept a bit better. Feels less over-done than that one.

The one you linked is a lot more mellow and had little to no humour. Also i stopped watching at 2 minutes because it was way too long and i got bored.
I prefer the one this article linked; to each their own however.
