I've been leveling archaeology on the beta just for you. Who wants an archaeology guide tomorrow? If it's you, then you're in luck!
David asked:
What's with Oralius? Does he still give his totally awesome quests in Cata?
I actually just did the new Burning Steppes last night, and it's amazing. Easily one of my top five changed zones in the Redridge tradition. As for Oralius, not only does he have Gor'tesh's Lopped-Off Head on a pike next to him, but the quest he gives out is called "SEVEN! YEP!!"
Jack Miles asked:
Will we be able to do both Vashj'ir and Hyjal, or will one over-level us for the other?
You won't outlevel Vashj'ir or Hyjal by finishing its counterpart first. You can certainly choose to do both, but you shouldn't need to. It's intended that you'll do one of the starting zones and then all three of the following zones.
At 80, Hyjal and Vashj'ir should both take you to about 82. Deepholm takes you to 83, Uldum to 84, and Twilight Highlands to 85.
Stella asked:
It appears that in the beta a player can summon a flying mount in non-flyable areas (although it acts as a ground mount of course).
Do we know if this is intended or a bug?
I'm going to assume it's intended, to let you use the mount of your choice for getting around on foot. It's been in so many beta patches now that I'd be surprised if it was unintentional.
KriegDrache asked:
I am REALLY looking forward to leveling new characters when Cataclysm hits. Is there any word or speculation as to if Blizzard will release new realms once the expansion is released, or maybe a month after like they did for all the previous expansions?
While I expect the general population to reach an all-time high when Cataclysm hits, I really don't anticipate that we'll see entirely new servers again. There are a whole lot of servers already.

maybe they will give free realm transfers off of Area 52...too populated.
Xylaria Sep 12th 2010 3:45PM
Just don't send them to Velen. Or Zangarmarsh. Or...in fact, just send them to another battlegroup altogether. Everyone I've seen from A52 has a terrible attitude. I'm not saying that you're ALL like that, but it gives your server a bad rep in the battlegroup, despite being so huge. (Or perhaps because of it.)
Dankie Sep 12th 2010 4:14PM
Gods, Please. PLEASE do not send them to Terokkar again! We've been having problems ever since.
Helasmoth Sep 12th 2010 4:16PM
Sorry, we on Blood Furnace refuse to take you back. We sent you away for a reason. Mwahahahahah!!! All your servers are belong to us!
Grumblecakes Sep 12th 2010 4:30PM
As someone who spent quite a few months raiding on Area 52, I can honestly say it's the worst realm I've been on when it comes to player attitude. I met a few nice, fun people on the server, but we all ended up transferring off because we were overwhelmed by jerks.
edgehead Sep 12th 2010 4:58PM
sounds like a similar situation to that we have on Barthilas. We have a saying that once a player is weeded out on his/her realm as a ninja/jerk/troll/etc, they migrate to hordeside Barth.....
Snuzzle Sep 12th 2010 7:18PM
I am SO glad I didn't go off to A52 when they offered Bloodhoofians free transfers to there. My ex did, but I have to say, he belongs there! :D
Mihn Sep 13th 2010 4:03AM
Kalecgos has to be the armpit of WoW. I have never met more jerks, greifers, ninjas and outright rude people than I have met on Kalecgos. I am so sorry I transferred there.

Mal'Ganis is the same, nothing but douchehats and griefers. I've known folks in my BG to desert random dungeons if they see someone from Mal'Ganis in the group.

Twilight's Hammer...
One word, one horrible, frightening word:
"Greeks"

@Jason
Have to agree. I just rolled a DK on Mal'Ganis... first thing I notice when I get into Org is that I had to turn off trade chat because everyone's just spamming their macros at it non-stop. The window constantly scrolls. And that's only scratching the surface of the douchery.

I will be leveling a worgen and a goblin in Cata, so I will choose Vashj'ir for one and Hyjal for the other. WoW will finally consume my entire existence, and I will LOVE it.

...Good...Good...

P.S. - I'm totally not a Blizzard operative. Promise.
MusedMoose Sep 12th 2010 4:03PM
Ditto about the existence-consuming. I'm actually considering taking some time off from work once Cataclysm hits; I didn't when WotLK arrived but this is different.

I guess its a perk that of levelling an entirely new character that I'll be able to do both Hyjal and Vashj'ir at the appropriate level. I'm assuming that like most expansions, it'll be reasonable to start around level 78?
Sorcha Sep 12th 2010 3:45PM
Unfortunately, if the zones go live as they are now in the beta, you won't be able to enter either before 80.
"In the next beta build the minimum level for entering and questing in Mount Hyjal and Vashj’ir will change from level 78 to level 80. All associated creatures will have their levels increased to match the new flow."

scherrerrerr Sep 12th 2010 3:47PM
Nope, Blizzard stated a while ago that characters would have to be level 80 to begin questing in the new Cata zones.
Michael Sacco Sep 12th 2010 3:47PM
Nope. The new zones require level 80.

Dang look at the triple-posting up in this.
