According to MMO-Champion, Cataclysm is targeted for a release date of Tuesday, Nov. 2, 2010. No official release date has been announced, and as is noted on MMO-Champion, Blizzard could easily push back the release date.
We do know that Cataclysm has previously been targeted for a 2010 release date and that they've kept on this target recently.

Release does NOT have to be on a Tuesday.
Wrath came out on a Thursday, 11/13/08.
Wrath's exact release date was announced by Blizz
2 months ahead of time, on 9/15/08, for release 11/13.
BC's release date was also announced by Blizz at almost right at
2 months ahead of time, on 11/10/06, for release 1/16.
So, we can expect the Cata release date to be announced by Blizz,
probably right about 2 months in advance.
That hasn't happened yet, so that look's like a no-go for a
1st or 2nd week of Nov release (unless it's announced this week,
for the 2nd week of Nov).

One other thing I forgot to add to my list of dates above:
When Blizz announced the release dates for BC and Wrath,
both announcements took place within only a few days after
their big patch hit the ptr.
Well, big patch hit the ptr yesterday, so announcement this week?
2 months from announcement till release would make it 2nd week of Nov.

nove 2 or the 23rd either one is good as long as its not pushed back to feb 2011.. the info is coming out soo fast and furious and the ptr is out I just wish they would rethink the path of the titans thing casue archeology doesnt make sense without it. just another senseless profession

i wish i could convince my guild to stop waisting time in ICC hero and come back full 85 kicking ass... the achivement will be the same, won't it ? and those items 333 at level 83 where do they leave the epics 277 of ICC ?

Have you PLAYED the beta? Feels like an alpha. So many things aren't implemented, like certain dungeons, raids and loot. Do professions even work yet? I have trouble leveling without the game telling me the world server crashed.
The PTR realms also have a long way to go before they can push that stuff live... I think it's going to be a CATAstrophe, but time will tell will tell.
If you take into account that key features of the game aren't available for testing now (not going to list the extensive examples posted elsewhere), and that there's only 2 months to test, go "gold" with media, and all the other assorted things, like... I don't know, a game that feels like a release.
Before it's released, it should feel like a complete game, and it should be tough to find a bug. I don't think it's going to happen, and maybe Activision is pushing them too hard? All about the $$$...
