Cataclysm Beta: Fishing and cooking dailies at level 10

These quests are still pretty early in development, as the tokens that the cooking quest gives you currently can't actually be spent on anything. This is either due to the vendor's not being implemented or that Blizzard just hasn't stocked that particular vendor with items yet. In either case, we'll have to wait a build or two to see what happens.
If you're looking to try out the cooking daily, then you can go see the quest-giver Marogg just outside the cooking trainer's place on the Drag in Orgrimmar for the Horde, or Robby Flay, just outside of the Stockades in Stormwind, if you're Alliance. For the fishing daily, you'll want Catherine Leland on a dock in the canals of Stormwind between the Stockades and the trade district, for Alliance, or Razgar, sitting on the shoreline of the little pond in The Valley of Honor in Orgrimmar, for Horde.

I wish they'd have picked Alton Brown instead. Alton Brown > Flay, any day of the week.
SaintStryfe Sep 14th 2010 11:20PM
yeah. Hey, Hordies, if you attack Stormwind, this guy, Robbie Flay's free and open for a kill. Please, slaughter him in the name of your r-tard Warchief!

Here's hoping the Horde questgiver's name turns out to be Marogg'i Yobet'tal'li.

@Basil Berntsen
Agreed. Alton is the best :P
FlipWilson Sep 15th 2010 6:37AM
@Basil Berntsen I know, I love Alton. I don't really care for Flay though.

I like both Alton and Bobby. I like Alton because of all the history and background information/science he gives. On the other hand, I like the way Bobby cooks, the techniques he uses, the creativity of his dishes and how he incorporates, marries, builds flavors.

Alton trips me out... he will show you how to make a grilled cheese that takes four hours to make... but it WILL be the best damn grilled cheese you ever ate.
I luvvvv tex-mex, so I love Bobby Flay's cooking, but Alton seems more like the kind of guy that you would wanna have a conversation with.
Alton's show is the best. If I understand why I should do something (like he explains) then it sticks with me and I then "know" how to cook.

Bobby Fail is an arrogant jerk with a pepper fetish. Swear to god, I think I even saw him add poblanos to a milkshake once. I'm starting the think he's physically incapable of tasting something without it first containing jalapenos.

"Yes, I said these are there to help you level up, as each daily gives you one additional skill point toward the appropriate profession for doing the quest."
Just 1 additional skill point? That sounds like barely anything at all..
Zakarii Sep 14th 2010 10:09PM
It's alot for Cooking, but for fishing, that's going to possibly mean we can catch 18 less fish for one point past 450. Fishing is supposed to be getting a overhaul though, but we all remember the dance studio...

I'd rather do a couple of dailies to help get out of a particularly unlucky green zone (which was every green zone for me) than be stuck there frustrated for days on end and wasting time on going back and forth for mats.

Bah. Alliance gets all the fun pop culture NPC names. =/
Drakkenfyre Sep 14th 2010 10:11PM

But the difference is, the Horde version is an Engineering trainer.
I was very well aware of the Alliance version.

They already won.

Horde got Haris Pilton! Or...well, sort of. >.< She's neutral...but she's a Blood Elf!
Luci Sep 15th 2010 9:31AM
The horde can HAVE Haris Pilton. I will take any other pop-culture reference any day.
