Cataclysm currency exchange rates

The Cataclysm currency conversion rates in brief are:
To gold:
- Emblem of Heroism = 5.5 gold each
- Emblem of Valor = 5.5 gold each
- Emblem of Conquest = 5.5 gold each
- Badge of Justice = 1.833 gold each
- Old Honor * 0.024
- Old Arena Points * 0.85
- Battleground Mark of Honor * 2.976
- Wintergrasp Mark of Honor * 19.08
- Stone Keeper Shard * 1.6
- Venture Coin * 3
- Spirit Shard * 1
- (Emblems of Triumph + Emblems of Frost ) * 2.75
BlizzardHere's some information on how each of the currencies will be converted in the next content patch. Keep in mind these values may change, and they can get a bit math heavy. Just know that our intent is to appropriately value each mark and provide a conversion we feel is fair.
The following items are immediately converted to gold:
Your New Honor Points total will be the sum of the following amounts:
Your Justice Points total will be equal to (Emblems of Triumph + Emblems of Frost ) * 2.75
Again, the softcap for both Honor and Justice conversions is 4000 points. This means that if a character converts to above 4,000 points, it will not be possible for them to earn more until they fall below the 4,000 cap.
A hardcap will be implemented in a following patch before Cataclysm's release. At that time, any excess points above 4,000 will be converted as follows:

Samutz was the one who explained to me how to do it, basically you have to log into your account by clicking on your name in the comments, I think you have to use something besides IE, like mabey firefox or else it wont actually allow you to change anything. . .
Tell you what here is the article where Samutz explained it in the comments.

Looks like ya exchanged one ogre for another. What's the point?
Scooter Sep 15th 2010 2:13PM
Sorry couldn't resist that one. Post more pics to express mood. you must make use of this new-found image changing power.

Oh crap. I just realized what this means...
Are people going to stop referring to (cutaia) as a she now?
Alas, the death of yet another WoW.com standby.
WHEN WILL IT END?!

"Sorry couldn't resist that one."
It's ok. I would've done the same thing. :)

Seeing this makes the prices of items seem less daunting.

It seems, from this, that triumph and frost badges will be worth the same amount at the time of conversion? (Although I expect raids will drop more justice points than, say, heroics).
SunGod228 Sep 15th 2010 1:15PM
Wonder if I should farm some heroics on alts to get some tier 10 gear before the conversion?
bean Sep 15th 2010 1:00PM
What I'm personally more interested in is what we'll be able to use those Justice points for pre-cataclysm. What will the t9/t10 gear costs look like?
Moeru Sep 15th 2010 1:08PM
Top tier raids give different points than heroics or last tier raids in Cata, along thel ines of Arena-Honor point now for PvP. Only different is that when a new tier of raids come out, we will have all our top tier points turned into the lower tier ones, if I remember correctly, or unless something has changed.

Cool. My initial reaction is that WG marks will be the most valuable. Totally don't see how frost badges are weighted the same as triumphs but it's very cool they are giving us something for our efforts.

They're doing that for the sake of gearing people up for the expansion. At this point, Blizzard isn't worried too much about current content... it's all about the expansion. They want to make leveling easier on you, make you feel epic when the expansion starts - so they give you a way to get sweet gear easily. The did something similar back before LK with the island of Quel'danas... made it incredibly easy to farm gold and get some sweet upgrades.

"Wintergrasp Mark of Honor"...snort. From the hundreds of times I've done WG on all of my alts, I don't think I've accumulated more than thirty (my main has fifteen; I have five 80s and some of them don't even have the "Wintergrasp Victory" achievement). And so I haven't had a chance to spend any of these on anything.
Being Alliance on the Thrall server just might have a little something to do with that.

After looking at the MMO conversion calc it is clear that WG marks are the way to go for honor points.
Live-
9 WG mark = 2000 honor
30 Stone keeper shards = 2000 honor
4.01-
9 WG marks = 171 honor
30 stone keeper shards = 48 honor
2000 honor = 48 honor
If this is accurate I would say spend all your honor and stone keeper shards now and squirrel all your WG marks away for 4.01

Yesssssssss... I am seriously, seriously hoping that this will get people back into WG for one last, HUGE hurrah!
I love everything about WG, and it's so sad to see its attendance waning more and more each week on my server, knowing full well that nobody will bother to go once Tol Barad drops.
Hopefully this information will spread like wildfire, everyone will soon know that WG marks have a HUGE conversion rate, and we'll once again see the sort of multi-raid battles that are so hectic, the constant crashing of older PCs is the main thing that keeps the balance of power bouncing back and forth every minute! :D

I am already looking forward to wow.com's (or wow-insider's!) comprehensive guide to converting to justice points... Not just conversion rates, but new prices of current things and level 85 things.
Narlic Sep 15th 2010 1:06PM
Definately. The honor prices alone must be plummeting.
Narlic Sep 15th 2010 1:06PM
Definitely. The honor prices alone must be plummeting.
Narlic Sep 15th 2010 4:20PM
Heh, I love it. I accidentally double-post while trying to fix a spelling error, and somehow the one with "definitely" spelled correctly ends up voted down while the error is fine. This forum needs a "delete" button!
Kilcin Sep 15th 2010 1:02PM
Now to figure out the prices of heirlooms with the justice points to see if it's better to get them now, or after the conversion.
