Feezee and Netherscourge seem to have failed reading comprehension; items only Seem to cost more after the conversion because you two are forgetting that Frost and Triumph are equal to each other in the conversion. If all you have are Frost emblems and Zero Triumph then yes, you are going to be taken to the cleaners and should buy ALL the T10 gear you can before the patch, if you only have Triumph then you should wait and keep all your badges until after the patch, and then you can buy T10 items without ever having seen a single frost badge, entered a T10 raid, or done the weekly quest. for the other 90% of the WoW playing populace who have both types of badges it even's out in the end. for example; you have 300 frost emblems and 900 triumph. the conversion to points gets you (300+900)*2.75 = 3300PoJ, at 1100 points for an item that would have cost you 95 frost emblems you still get to buy the same amount of T10 items (3) you could before or after the patch. and yes, it is a little bit of a loss but not that much. you just have to figure out which side you will fall on and try to purchase you items accordingly. overall i would suggest that if you can buy stuff with your frost badges and want to, you should do it before the patch, then you can use the points you get from triumph badges after the patch to pick up whatever else you might want after the patch. or you can choose to drop them down to any other badge and get some $$ for them. Just remember, as long as i have read everything correctly, PoJ will be usable to buy lvl85 items. so unless they plan to do a PoJ reset with the launch of Cata, we will have the choice of getting T10 gear, $$ or holding out to have a leg up on lvl85 gear. but yeah, more than likely there will be a PoJ wipe with 4.02 (Cataclysm launch) patch. personally i'm going to go with the cash option, since i pretty much have all the T10 i can/want to buy, plus from all that i've heard it's going to be an hard gear reset similar to the vanilla-BC one, Cata Green = Wrath Purple.
