Last I heard, the amount of hit rating required at 85 was something like 601. IIRC that number was also for hunters who require significantly less hit than casters. Also keep in mind that Misery is going away so you'll need the full 17% and that each new tier of content in Cataclysm will require higher Hit/expertise ratings to cap than the tier before it.

. . . So yeah, you may not need that much hit for ICC, but you will need it later.
