There's one thing that has me excited about Cataclysm, and that's goblins. So getting to see Goblins: How You Like Me Now? was like a dose of pure joy shot up my spine with the power of a thundering herd of elephants. Not only do I love those little green bastards, but JMSBuddha has really put together a great video to feature them.
Sure, worgen get to show off their Gilnean Like Me movie, but worgen don't have rocket cars. Or rocket sharks. Or rocket rockets. And they're not green. Gnomes are the fat red headed step child of WOW. Sorry, it is just hard to take them serious. This coming from an Alliance player. Gnome is the one race that I look at and just go.. no thanks. Now.. Goblins. I have freaking loved them. Their loose morals, their greed.. their insanity.. just love them! How to improve gnomes.. IDK. Gnome males tend to look like freaky child molesters, and sound even worse. Females.. are meh.
I feel your pain Josin. Let's face it, when it came to being REALLY creative with the new races, Horde got the love, plain and simple, they generally do. I'm not going to play a goblin, nothing about them attracts me but for all the lush lore they put into the worgen starting experience it, IN NO WAY, has the kind of creative, out-of-the-box, interaction that they gave the goblins.
Yeah, this bugs me, a lot.
All the things that seem to attract other people to these little guys (the loose morals, the greed) is what makes them not fun for me.
I don't want rocket cars for Worgen, frankly I'm not a fan of vehicles in the game but don't tell me they couldn't have been just as wacky, in a different way.
I get Robin's explanation about evil being more, "delicious" to write but... is Blizz even trying?

Huge fan of the Burn Notice. Even made a dwarf toon kind of named after Sam Axe (Axxeus). That would be totally insane if they had some Goblin references from there.
I am totally going to roll a goblin at some point and think they are the more interesting of the 2 new races and probably one of the top 3 over-all. That video though was very meh. All you need is a goblin driving a car or any vehicle. And for the record was that a shark with a fricken laser-beam attached to it's head? Now that's some win. Maybe it's due to Goblins not being available to play a lot on beta but it seemed like he was doing the same 3-4 things over and over. Anyways this did nothing to make me want to play any more or any less.
I didn't even really want a Goblin before. Yeah, I played the Goblin starting zone at BlizzCon last year, and it was pretty sweet...but I'm not really a Hordie. Now I NEED a Goblin =D Amazing video!
They already would have been. I mean, sure, werewolves are more conventionally awesome, but I think running around as a short green man in a ROCKET CAR (omg rocket car *squeal*) has been a secret dream of mine all my life =P.
No it's got nothing to do with goblins being inherently more cool than Worgen or vise versa. Blizz did a better job making the Goblin experience fun, plain and simple.
I love the more sedate tones and lush lore of the Worgen area but it doesn't have the same heart. Not to mention that the worgen get the shaft in being able to play through their OWN story. I honestly hope that everyone in Beta is saying something about this to Blizz.

I'm actually a pretty positive poster and you have to admit that my complaining post are at least, nice to people. I do have a bit of a bug up my hiney about the some of the larger Cata choices, that's all. No big. I don't troll people.
If you are referencing the one time I think I've ever commented on anything of yours I actually just defended the fact that some people dislike belfs for deeper reasons than going with the crowd. And, if all you play is Alliance, it's a bit of a disheartening time if you follow the news.
I also think debating these things are fun so feel free to argue with me if ya wish. I find your vids hilarious. /shrug.
Sorry if I'm just doing it too much lately and genuinely sorry if it seems overkill from other readers perspective. I care about this stuff and find the folks here interesting to talk to. I don't have RL friends that play so... again, sorry. I put smilies in my posts a lot to try and communicate the good humour behind it all. I guess that’s a fail. Yay internet.
@Dreyja I was speaking in general to your comment, nothing specific and was more joking around with you. Hence the Vicodin comment. =P I don't mind people who criticize/complain/comment/troll/etc. my work. I can think of a few comments from you on my videos and not once have I been offended. =] So, don't take what I said personal or in a demeaning manner. Just being my playful self.
On a side note, I still find people's hatred for BE's amusing. I mean I can understand if you dislike BE's for lore but if someone hates them because there is a lot of videos with them is another. Don't be surprised if I just have some random BE's popping up out of nowhere in some videos. =D

At Blizzcon I played both races. When everyone went ga ga over the Worgen I knew the Goblins were cooler than people thought.
I also think Blizzard knows the Worgen will be popular, so they went all out to make sure the Goblins would be too.
