Long ago I read on a blog (Big Red Kitty?) to map your F1-F12 keys to your bottom left action bar (the bar right above the main action bar). I started using this setup and have been using it ever since. While I can only comfortably reach 1-6 and F1-F5. The other thing I love about the set up is that with the addons Inline Auras and Omni CC I get most of the important timer/dot/cooldown information as text right on the buttons themselves. As time has gone on I've added refinements to it like using the Move Anything addon to slide my bottom action bars all the way to the right to move the area I focus on most (1-6/F1-F5) more towards the center of the screen. I like to keep the geometry of the layout roughly based on the default UI so that if I'm ever not using addons I can still function. (Like on the PTR although I know some addons work on the PTR.)I use tilde '~' as a keybinding on one of the action buttons in the lower part of my right action bar along with the two side mouse buttons. This way I can add or swap out spells or macros to them with ease.If you play a pet class you can put a /petattack macro (with Hunter's Mark for hunters) on the tilde action bar button for a quick way to send in your pet. I use these 'utility' key bindings for something different on each class. For hunters/warlocks/frost mages/unholy DKs tilde is a pet attack macro. On my warrior it's charge. Cat Druid/rogue it is stealth. Shadow priest it's shadow form.My top thumb mouse button bind is used for totems on my shaman, horn of winter on my DK, cleave on my warrior (when fury), and blink on my mage.I bind toggle autorun to my middle mouse (clicking the mouse wheel down). As for mouse clicking I pretty much use my mouse for anything that isn't in 1-6 or F1-F5. 99% of the time those spells aren't as time sensitive as my main buttons. I also like to designate areas for themed abilities/items. The right hand side of my bottom right action bar is for things that keep me alive in emergencies or give me mana. Things like tanking cooldowns (shield wall, last stand, icebound fortitude, frenzied regeneration, etc. Mana generators like evocation, innervate, potions, etc.Interestingly I have had Feign Death mapped to F7 for some reason I can't remember now but it's been there so long and I'm so used to reaching all the way over to push it that I can't not bind it that way. I recently spent a few months playing on a laptop and after getting back on a PC I noticed how far up there the F-keys are. Luckily my wife had a Logitech laptop-style desktop keyboard she didn't want to use any more and I've loved using it and having my precious F-keys right there next to my number keys.
