If it works exactly like a regular mount it shouldn't be an issue, the problems with plainsrunning were in it's mechanics. To get mount speed all you had to do was run for 10 seconds, in or out of combat. Any damage you took or even if you just stopped moving you'd be reset back to run speed again. While it sounds kind of cool, it was totally impractical and impossible to balance around.
