The Queue: A river runs through it

Better appreciate your crappy water textures while you can! What will you do when they're gone? Not have crappy water textures? As if that's even an option.
Lisdonvarna asked:
Do you think that the number of humans created after Cataclysm launches will diminish due to the worgen's ability to be human out of combat? Why roll a regular dwarf when you can play a dwarf that can turn into a night elf, know what I mean?
No, I really don't think it'll be an issue. People will continue to roll characters of races they find appealing, whether due to racial abilities or aesthetics -- and the fact is that most of your time is spent in combat.
Ithalaine asked:
What's happened to the WoW Insider Show? I'm pretty sure it should have been out by now.
The URL changeover caused some issues with our podcast feed. It should be fixed soon. Until then, this week's episode is in cold storage.
Nimravidae asked:
While most likely there isn't any news, I was curious as to whether there have been any interesting rumors about the worgen female design. Whether it's gone back to be redesigned to be on par with the worgen male, or whether it will be implemented as is? Totally understandable if no one knows. I've scoured several sites looking for info (mostly because I'm bored lately) and can't seem to find any. Never hurts to ask, right? Thanks.
The models were recently redesigned slightly to have a more feral muzzle, à la male worgen, and their hairstyles were completely removed in favor of a mane -- again, just like the males. Their customization options will be functionally identical to male worgen as well -- braids and tufts of hair and stuff like that.
We don't have any pictures of the model in working order because it's still not active in the beta, though the files are in the beta client (just unreadable). We know what we do because of the datamined textures below, courtesy of World of Raids.
The good news is that there should be a working female worgen model in this latest beta build.

Cybork asked:
Hey, is there going to be a sanctuary city like Dalaran for Wrath and Shattrath to TBC in Cataclysm?
Not in the same sense as Dalaran or Shattrath. The Temple of Earth, in Deepholm, is a sanctuary zone, though it's more of a quest hub than a city.

What are player health levels looking like in Cataclysm? I would assume they're getting pretty ridiculous at this point. I saw a video with a warlock with 80,000 health...

Also, I've seen this asked many times but I don't think it's been answered, either by the Queue or by commenters: Any sign of Netherwing activity in Cata? I'd figure they'd be a little interested in not only their evil creator's tearing apart of all their friends' world but that he's been stealing their eggs to create his twilight dragons.

Tanks in tier 11 raid gear should have 150-200k health. DPS will have 80-100k as normal. Maybe even a bit more. Try not to be shocked, they did say they were going to inflate health values while keeping dps on a more slowly increasing upswing.

I have mixed feelings about the inflated HP from a PvP perspective. When I'm just a medium geared toon (a paper class in the "paper, Rock, Scissor" scenario) and I square off against a well geared toon (scissor), as it now stands we both now who's walking away from this fight and it isn't me. But at least it ends quickly. So in the new scenario with inflated HP, but only slightly greater damage I'll have to live through a longer period of humiliation?

"Better appreciate your crappy water textures while you can! What will you do when they're gone? Not have crappy water textures? As if that's even an option."
I think it IS an option xD
Drakkenfyre Sep 18th 2010 6:08PM
Aww, I liked the female Worgen's face.
Artificial Sep 18th 2010 6:40PM
Eh... the old textures look like they (both the male and female) have serious dental issues.
rotny Sep 18th 2010 6:10PM
Undead just got awesome(r) with cannibalize.
Drakkenfyre Sep 18th 2010 6:10PM
Actually, currently the options in PTR are,
Crappy Water
Invisible Water
Invisible Water
Invisible Water
The low-quality water is still an option.
timbosart Sep 18th 2010 6:57PM
On PTR in Eversong the water is completely gone, I jumped down from that large tower on Sunstrider Isle thinking the water would save me....it didn't
Drakkenfyre Sep 18th 2010 7:41PM
Oh, I have been playing around with the missing water.
Go to Azuremyst Isle, Slowfall to the bottom, run to the end of the zone. You can mount up on your flying mount, and fly. If you get to the right place, you will see Hellfire Pennisula's sky fade in some. Outland, the Draenei starting area, and the Blood Elf starting area are all on the same map. I guess this bugs because you are close enuf for the sky to fade in some.
Tbah Sep 19th 2010 1:18AM
Don't know about you, but I get:
Crappy water
Cool water
Invisible water
Invisible water
It might be due to DX11. Might not.
dannyflorida Sep 19th 2010 6:02PM
Will water fountains finally have water in them?
Drakkenfyre Sep 19th 2010 6:14PM
Tbah, what I was talking about was the first build. In the new build the new water is implemented. The highest level water is indeed a DirectX11 effect.
danny, yes, after the 4.03 patch you will get water in the fountains in SW.

I was toying with the cata builds over at wowhead when I saw something weird. Shadow priests seems to have a spirit-to-hit talent, while neither warlocks nor mages do. Is this a bug with the talent-calc at wowhead, an oversight by Blizz (yeah right...) or is there something I'm simply missing? Will there be cloth items with hit on them?
Pyromelter Sep 18th 2010 6:26PM
DPS Cloth will have hit on it. Your observation is as blizzard intends... no spirit for mages or locks, spirit okay for priests. Spriests will also be using pieces with hit, but giving them an ability to use spirit like that makes spirit cloth available to more than just healy priests. Shaman and druids also have the same talent, so that spirit leather and mail will be worthwhile for moonkin and eleshaman.
Kaorael Sep 18th 2010 6:31PM
That talent is there so that shadow priests can use healer priest items and don't need entirely different sets for healing and dps'ing. They can still choose not to take it, and use hit cloth like mages and warlocks will have to do, but it allows for less competition between cloth classes for gear.

Hi there The Queue readers and moderators.
Is Tyr's hand really in the place called Tyr's Hand or it's just the place he lost it in? If it's not there where is it?
What hapened to Akama and Maiev after Illidan's death?
Why dosen't Malfurion's model in game have amber eyes like it was stated in lore (that all druids have amber eyes)?
Is it true that there isn't going to be a worgen mount insted they will just run like crazy with the spell called Running Wild? If so, what will be added to alliance to balance the the mount amount? Will this mean that only goblins will be able to use thier mounts?
If all the beeings (eredar, orcs, succubuses, nathrezim etc) in the known WoW universe are made of biomass isn't the Titan's plan to make people from stone and metal actually an abomination?
who is Landro?
Why are the humans so obsessed with lions when lions are present only in Kalimdor manly Barrens?
How did the arakoa learend druidism?
What are the arakoa and where do they came from? Do they share a simialr fate with the worgen (some crazy druids becamed bird like and couldn't change back)?
We know the creatures of WoW have souls but what happenes to them after they die (assuming the don't get captured by warlocks or Frostmourns)? Is there some sort of heaven or hell?
If all the Tol'vir leave in Uldum how did the Nerubians got ahold of them in Warcraft 3?
What are the gnols and where do they come from?
What hapened to Balnazzar?
Will Hemet Nesingwary make a come-back in Cataclysm?
What hapened to Kul Tiras?
Now that all the darven clans are uniting will the dark irons still attack Allinace in Burning Steps?
Garosh's model apperas to be wielding Gorehowl (his father axe). Did he killed Prince Malchezaar to get it?
Are the Old Gods somehow the organs of Azeroth (C'thun the stomach, Yogg Saron the Brain and arguably Soggoth the Slitherer may look like ant iner ear)?
Why were the trinkets that improved mounted speed limited to level 70 yet talents like On a pale horse and Pathfinding were kept?
What will happen to Soul bags and quivres/ ammo pouches?
Why was the worgen racial +1% damage replaced with crit? (the answear: because healers didn't need it, isn't acceptable as there are alot of talents like bow/gun specialization or axe/mace who don't either)
When the Vrykul suffered the curse of flesh the humans were born. Did they also suffered the curse of sea weed?
What are vikings in WoW? We hear about stuf that belongs to them like Viking Sword, Viking Hammer or Battered Viking Shield but we haven't met them yet.
Do we really need a new class? It will most likely be another hibrid with healing (based on agill)ity and dps (based on spirit) abilities that sings or uses some sort of magic we haven't heard about.
If the worgen can't become undead why are there worgen Daeth Kinghts?
In Cataclysm what will happen to Ravenholdt and Timbermaw?
itsthebrent Sep 18th 2010 6:29PM
Did you really just ask 4,000 questions, all with bad grammar and spelling?
...or did I just get trolled!? I can't even tell anymore!!!
