Cataclysm beta: Horde and Alliance guild mounts

Interested in seeing what the Horde mount is? It is the Kron'Kar Annihilator (a scorpion), and you can see a video of it after the jump!
So after seeing both mounts, which one would you rather have? That question is assuming that you're not in any way faction-biased. Personally, I think the scorpion looks really cool. I wouldn't mind riding a lion around either, though.

Are we assuming the scorpion will be getting armor and a guild tabard as well? Cuz that would be lulu!

I just wish it had the proper number of legs. Scorpions have 4 paired sets of legs, and one set of claws. These ones just look wrong to me.
Damn animal biology degree.
On the other hand, make them glow like real scorpions do under UV and I'm willing to forgive alot!

the lion is basically a new nightsaber (even the animation). you are getting a totally badass scorpion. how can you possibly not be thrilled?

I hate the Lion, the scorpion is awesome and original, while the lion looks like a weasel.
Unfortunately - I have 3 alliance lvl 80s, and not even sure if wanna roll a goblin in cata.
The grass is always greener, my friend.

Fortunately for me, I love the lion and I am alliance. For the alliance!! Also, I'd be worried about getting stung with that stinger right by my back. :p

Same boat, sigh. I'm a Hordie, but I'd much rather have the lion, it is QUITE lovely! The scorpion is just... ick. Purely personal opinion, mind you.
Since they're getting rid of the Zulian Tiger, I really hope they add SOME sort of kitty mount the Horde has a shot at... otherwise I'd better just hope I can win the lottery and get a Spectral Tiger off eBay, heh.

If your horde, you can get the same basic model as the alliance one, but you wont be too happy. The model and animations of the Lion are identical to wind riders....

Lucky for me, I'm Horde most of the time and I love the Kron'kar Scorpion!
I also find the lion quite appropiate for the Alliance, since their faction symbol is a lion. And I like it, too.

Not to mention, if you slam on the brakes on that scorpion, you're gettin' a stinger to the spine. And that'll really put a damper on your day.

Yeah, why would you want a lion? Alliance is getting the shaft on a guild mount. It's a freaking lame ass lion. Lion vs. Scorpion, there is not balanced in worthiness. Alliance already get tigers, what's so interesting about a lion?

In the Lion video, the player holds the banner rather than it being attached to the mount (think Argent Tournament jousting mounts and the way you hold your lance). I assume it will be exactly the same for the Scorpion.

Sit on the Scorpion? Nah. I'd want my toon to be standing on it, gripping spiked chains attached to its pincers to control direction.

My thoughts exactly, it doesn't really look like they've thought out how to sit on that thing. all of the larger races will look like they're getting stinger'd in the back all the time, especially taurens. + a saddle will look semi ridiculous.... however it might work if they position riders right up against the tail and have a long bridle attached to those really tall mandibles it has, that would actually look pretty decent.
As for the Lion, it looks good, its something I've always wanted as a mount(mountjunky) but the mask thingy its wearing makes it look odd. Tabard "barding" is nice but it makes the flag piece completely unnecessary. I'd be happy with both, without flag, and so long as I'm not getting "murdered" everytime I ride my scorpion :P
