A quick note on our RSS feeds and iTunes issues

Right now, our goblin-engineered RSS feed and gnomish iTunes systems are getting overhauled and fixed up. Both services are being cranky, but the stalwart code slingers at Aol are working on fixes. In the meantime, just hang in there with us a tiny bit longer. It'll be OK soon enough, and we can all enjoy our shiny new WoW Insider.
We'd like to thank those of you who have written us to make sure we know about the RSS feed, podcast and iTunes issues. Our community is a wonderful group of people whose feedback has helped us excel. We appreciate the time you took to write in. It shows you care, and we will keep trying to return the best content possible.

What about the mobile site? Do we still use i.wow.com?
justincmorris Sep 20th 2010 12:50PM
For me it does I use an iPhone 3GS. All I type in is wow.com and it auto redirects

Robin, Adam,
You do realize that i.wow.com doesn't redirect to i.wow.joystiq.com at all, right? In fact, i.wowinsider.com redirects to i.wow.com as well.
It's funny because when you first announced the move, the joystiq subdomain wasn't working, so I gave up and continued to use i.wow.com and had no idea the subdomain was active until days later when I visited in my computer's browser directly.
This transition could have been a bit smoother.

The mobile site, i.wow.joystiq.com, is extremely slow for me, and this is bad because it is the primary way I browse WoW Insider. The pages are loading painfully slowly; it takes 45 seconds to 1 minute for any page to load. I've had to stop visiting the site because of it. This problem just started a few days ago. Pages at other websites open just fine. The issue is only with i.wow.joystiq.com. Please fix so I can return to visiting the site regularly.

We know there's problem. We've taken it as far as we can, and the rest of the solution is with Aol.
Sorry for the inconvenience, if there was anything else I could do, I would.

Was there a podcast last week that I missed or did you guys take the week off?
Orkchop Sep 20th 2010 2:29PM
Nevermind, I missed an issue of the Queue where they answered it. (It's recorded but lost in url change limbo)

I wonder how many people saw the pic, and went "WTF? Early maintainence?"
Utakata Sep 20th 2010 1:59PM
One thing I appreciate though...I can still go to this site and post on it without any issues or upsets despite the change. Whenever MMO Champs "changes" things...it's days if not a week or two before my browser will ever allow to upload it. I'm sure logging and posting on it is even more a trail and error.

Good to hear you're working on it. I'm getting tired of re-reading the same posts over and over again. ;)

The WoW Insider podcast is my favorite thing to listen to while I attempt to get Baron Rivendare give up his mount. Eagerly looking forward to its return. ^_^
