I tend to shy away from featuring too many previews or trailers because you never know if the advertised video will actually ever come to fruition. However, Kidsake has a pretty good reputation, and his previous work is well-loved enough that I thought I'd take a chance. As you can see, the video for PLATE just looks awesome.
Kidsake's work has always been beautiful and haunting. God's Gonna Cut You Down is still one of my favorite mood pieces. I'm eagerly looking forward to PLATE, as I'm excited to see what he'll do with it. Interested in the wide world of machinima? We have new movies every weekday here on WoW Moviewatch! The teaser was good, it did it's job and piqued my curiosity and made me look forward to seeing the finished movie. I give it an A+ :)
The other vid you linked was good, had a great feel, but it didn't seem to fit the song. It reminded me of all those AMVs I've watched where people just put random clips together but MUCH better done, especially the effects and the fact that he did more than rip video off a DVD or [blech] Cartoon Network. I give the vid a B+, effects were amazing, overall feel was great, each scene had a good look and blended well into the whole, pretty much the only beef (hehe, Tauren) I had with it is the scenes (while great) didn't convey well the song's story. :)
I just have to say, thanks to MG for putting this here. I wasn't sure if it would be featured, since it is a preview/teaser.
Also, thanks to ya'll for the nice comments and support.
A longer trailer is due soon, and hopefully the first episode of PLATE will hit by Christmas.
The outline's been done for the episodes, voice actors are lined up, the catering has been ordered, groupies are being assigned and several scenes have been shot.
This is all due to you, WoW community. Thank you for your continued support, and I hope PLATE will astound you!
I'm unfamiliar with Kidsake's work, so my main response was something like, "Huh?" All I saw was some nice looking graphics, but there's not enough content to tell what the heck is going on.
That's not a criticism, as I don't suppose this teaser was made with people like me in mind, but I don't really understand why this was featured. Hopefully when the full trailer comes out it will be featured as well, and I'll have some idea of what this is all about.

Speaking of teasers, any idea what happened to "The Hunt?"
