| Fallout Online hints at The Church of Harold The new Fallout MMORPG is such a closely guarded secret that we know next to nothing about the game itself. Wow, APB is dead in the water already? I'm not a big follower of this kind of news, but I happened to watch a video of the beta done by that Ten Ton Hammer guy. It seemed relatively fun as MMOFPS go.
I don't think I've ever seen a game with actual potential tank so quickly.

Watch FFXIV is you want to see a MMO tank faster.

heh, yea.
I was playing FFXIV beta for a week or 2, and man was it was frustrating to play. I really gave it a chance, and hell, I might have bought it if I hadn't played the beta. Thanks for saving me 70 bucks Square-Enix!!!
I didn't have a chance to try APB, but it looked interesting from the ZAM:BFF report I saw on it.

Meatdraw, don't be so quick to dismiss it. Remember it was a Beta. Most of the problems were all fixed for the launch. Poke your nose around some of the forums. Hardware cursor, nonexistant UI lag, game doesn't lose your quests if you DC, your hotbar doesn't change when you change classes, etc etc.
All the "broken" aspects of it seem to be fixed now that the game has launched. In fact, I'd dare say this is the smoothest launch of any MMO I've ever seen, including WoW (which was anything but smooth).
Definitely worth considering since all the technical bullshit has apparently been fixed.

You're right I shouldn't be quick to dismiss it. FFXIV does look to have some new and interesting features, and it is far from another WOW rip off. The Constant DCing, and log-in errors were of course a big turn off, but that's not all I am referring to when I say I got frustrated playing it.
I found the combat system "clunky" and boring and the cities are huge and spread out which made for a lot of wasted time running around. I also thought the explanation of the basic mechanics and features were very poorly explained within the game. There's more that got on my nerves about it, but This isn't meant to be a crap-on-FFXIV post. The game looks great visually, and the trade system is really cool.
I hope it takes off so they feel the need to put effort into repairing some of the existing faults.
