Pre-Cataclysm event image gallery

As we mentioned earlier, the next pre-Cataclysm event is currently being tested on the PTR. We've now gone through the Horde version of the event ourselves (it's still a little buggy) and nabbed some screenshots to share with you. We'll do a full writeup later today, so stick around and we'll fill you in on all the details soon.
Be warned: The gallery includes spoilers for events coming up in the next patch, so if you'd like to be surprised, move along. Might I suggest to the priest section?

Whoa whoa whoa, this is on the PTR? Are those flying mounts in Azeroth I'm seeing? I thought those weren't being added in the next patch or is there something else I'm missing here entirely?
Dawn Moore Sep 21st 2010 5:00AM
That they are, but we can't train old world flying yet so all they're doing is hopping around. Like... you can mount up, run, and jump on the mount, but you can't fly.

As Dawn Moore failed to explain is that in this patch you can use your flying mounts as ground mounts, they have 100% running speed just like an epic ground mount.
They can not fly until Cataclysm.
Gondlem Sep 21st 2010 7:29AM
Isn't that... what she said?

Yes, it is.

It may or may not be true regarding using flying mounts in Vanilla on the PTR, but the mounts in the pics aren't flying mounts. I'm 99% positive that those are the Raven Lord land mount; super-rare drop off Anzu in Sethekk Halls.

Those are flying mounts, but you cannot fly them yet....they LOOK like they're about to take off, but theyre grounded right after.
Cata mechanics, but no new content...besides the topic of this post of course.

They should put "event" bosses in the dungeons. Would be great to see some "Twilight Cult Recruiters" in places like SM or the Frozen Halls dungeons, great way to explain a spike in numbers of the Twilight's Hammer members and what on earth Cult of the dammed members are doing without an active Lich King.
arcaneterror Sep 21st 2010 7:30AM
In Hyjal you learn that the Cult of the Damned is actually infiltrating the Twilight's Hammer, presumably under orders from Bolvar.

Someone has mentioned that Westfall appears to be under attack by fire elementals, but I can't confirm that. I've also read a report that air elementals were in Southshore area.
However, I did find water elementals attacking various locations in Silverpine Forest, which was fun! The murlocs were fighting them.

there are water water elementals in bluegill marsh too

Can anyone tell me what the Alliance equivalent is of the quest "Prophecies Of Doom"? I couldn't find it on wowhead myself.
Darthregis Sep 21st 2010 9:58AM
Hrrrm... many fire elementals makes my fire mage a tad uncomfortable. :P

It's the end of the world as we know it...
And I feel fine.
(cutaia) Sep 21st 2010 12:14PM
Yeah, but it appears those cult members are losing their religion...
Qot Sep 21st 2010 12:20PM
It's understandable. They know that, in the Cataclysm, everybody hurts.
(cutaia) Sep 21st 2010 1:18PM
It's such a shame. They seemed like such shiny happy people before.
Qot Sep 21st 2010 2:19PM
They shouldn't worry about the Cataclysm and just try to enjoy the simple things in life, like nightswimming.
Vacasta Sep 21st 2010 3:31PM
Or, if you can believe, a man on the moon.
