The first of the pre-Cataclysm events started earlier this month with Operation: Gnomeregan and Zalazane's Fall, which are still available on live realms right now. We'll get you more information on what is happening on the PTR as soon as possible.

Meh. I would so do these, but for some reason the PTR requires you to download around 30 gigs before you can use it =/

Not quite true. The new download manager lets you play without installing the majority of the patch. It's really good actually.

Yep, I only had to download 180mb to get into yellow and the game was fully playable, the odd missing texture or loot icon, but they seem to load on demand, so nothing that would impede play.

Testing it out, the only problem is that the Cultist's Robes buff would disappear for some reason. Removing and putting the robe back on fixed it.
the other problem is the sudden ending. I did my work turned it into Varian, and then poof, a next /yell emote and that's it.

Me too, my guess is that this is as far as the event has been implemented so far.
Keep in mind the the short quest line that has you running around SW isn't the entire pre-cataclysm event.
We can expect a full blown elemental invasion as the finale of this event, but I'm doubtful they'll put that on the PTR at all and we'll have to wait till it comes to live to see the full glory of the elemental invasion.

Garrosh doesn't respawn on the last part of the quest. We all waited for hours. What a bummer.

EU as well? If not then meh EU side of things has some big issues to sort out character copy is still dodgy.

Only just got back into the copy queue on the EU, so I hope this isn't yet another patch and wipe incoming.
Testing is all well and good, but when their own mechanisms get in the way of that testing, then it isn't very constructive.

Speaking of Zalazane's Fall and Operation Gnomeregan, are they still available on the PTR? Are they gonna still be there when the patch hits? I'm trying to determine how long I have to do them since the character I want to do them on (or the troll one anyways) is only 71.
