We do have to, many times, worry about breaking the spirit of the law. If not in criminal court, then in Civil Court. How do you think that people that exploit loopholes in laws are prosecuted? It's a loophole that gets them around the law, but yet because it breaks the SPIRIT of the law, they are able to many times be prosecuted via criminal or sued in the civil courts.
