Why the hell would you want to pre-level an alt before Cata?! You really want to power through the same Barrens/Wetlands for the hundredth time right before they significantly change and improve the entire leveling experience? This makes exactly zero sense to me. I've been wanting to make an alt for months now, but I don't want to slog through the same quests I've done so many times. I want to experience WoW again, from 1-60/70/80/85. I want to see how the world changes, the new quests and items while playing an alt. If you already have a max level character ready for Cata, why not wait an experience the entirety of Cata with your alt after it comes out?

You know, meybe a newcomer will find this useful, as for me, i am leveling a rogue for the sake of INSANITY!!!! (and yeah, only ravenhold to do!)
Some of us still enjoy it and are levelling farmers to help feed the Cata alts we already have plans for. :)Yes, I like LEVELING. And I like levelling the SAME toon, essentially. I can go to new areas and explore with a mechanic I enjoy and understand. There are a few out there. :) Masochistic maybe.

I can see both sides of the argument. I guess it depends on how many toons you are making in Cata. Me personally, I am going with 2 new ones. So in that aspect if I wanted to level say a warrior (stuck on 29) or a priest (don't have one yet) I would have to wait for Cata to come out level 6 80's and 2 fresh toons (Worgen Druid-Dwarf Shaman) before hitting those two. So just from a time aspect I can see how it would make sense to knock one out before Cata.

Well, not everyone has a max level on both sides (as an example), so maybe slogging through the Barrens would be a new experience for them, but they want to streamline it a bit using the various addons mentioned.Personally, I've just finished leveling my Druid through Outlands/Northrend because well, Druids are damn fun at that level, and I didn't see the point in waiting (because those zones won't actually be changing).I am not going to level my other alts though, for the exact reasons you mentioned... I've run through STV so many times that I actually look forward to going to Desolace instead.

Yeah a couple months ago I didn't think I was going to do any pre-Cata leveling *really*, but..1. finished my rogue for Ravenholdt (she was close, just got her to 60 a couple days ago. That's good enough for me). 2. I'm going to xfer servers sometime Soon™, and I'm making a new DK there for a Scribe/Potion Alch to replace the one I'm not bringing with. 3. Profession alts, ones @ 68 currently will need to be 75 in Cata to get the minimum maximum profession benefits. I've not started on these yet, mind.

I have a few horde toons. Right now I am leveling a alli toon. I want to see both sides of the world before it changes.

I agree with you, I've seen those areas enough, but a lot of people want to do it simply because they won't be able to, ever again, see it the way it is now after Cataclysm launches.Personally, I've never been one to wax nostalgic about such things.
