Breakfast Topic: Do you own any WoW peripherals?

One of my friends struck it rich at a really young age. He grew up fairly poor and suddenly came into a large amount of money, and he now spends it on infinite amounts of frivolous items. He actually owns a Slap Chop, George Foreman Grill and some ShamWoWs. He also buys many of the WoW peripherals. Not only did he buy the sparkle pony and about every pet that WoW has put out, he also buys the actual gaming items. He has the Tap Chat, the wireless WoW headset, even the Wrath keyboard and Blizzard MMO gaming mouse.
Personally, the only peripheral I've bought from Blizzard is an authenticator, which netted me the cute little core hound pet. However, the sense of security that my seven 80s won't be cleaned out while my account is used to spam trade for some gold selling site is the real reason I picked it up. I have a Logitech mouse and headset -- nothing super fancy, but they work just fine for me, and I paid less than one piece's worth of the Blizzard direct WoW paraphernalia. My girlfriend was going to buy me the WoW headset for my birthday, but I told her to save her money and get me a game card, as opposed to dropping over $100 on a headset. I told her if I were going to spend that kind of money on something for my computer, it would be to update pieces of the hardware, like a better graphics card or a new processor.
In the end, the decision whether or not to buy something comes down to the consumer, so I leave it to you, the WoW gaming public: Do you own any of the gaming peripherals for WoW? If so, do they actually help make you a better player? If you feel they actually aid your gaming experience, can you provide some examples or testimonials as to why?

yep, got me a razer naga. bit intimidating at first but once i got used to the side pad its just second nature.

The Naga has completely changed my game. I wanted to start keybinding for a long time but couldn't do it successfully until I bought this mouse.
I highly recommend it to anyone in a similar position.

I agree. Before I got the Naga I was a keyboard turning mediocre DPS hunter too afraid to try tanking with my warrior. Once I got the hang of the Naga's buttons it seriously ramped up my game. Best $80 I ever spent. Now I'm raiding and PvPing and not feeling like a noob.

I got a Naga a few months back, too. It took some serious getting used to, but now that I am used to it I friggin' love the thing. It feels nice in the hand, and the extra buttons are amazingly helpful to have around.

The Naga was a worthy purchase for sure, especially when you consider I play a hunter. Now, all the jokes about "lolol auto-shot afk hunter" aside, do you know how many keybinds it takes to be a good hunter? It's bloody insane. I can't imagine playing the game without a Naga now.

I too have a Razer Naga, and it totally changed my game. Mouseover @target healing macros, the Naga, and Grid means I don't have to do weird shft-alt-middleclick combinations with clique (although that's not a bad way to heal either if you don't have the $80). But for the price, it's an awesome accessory.
I also have an authenticator, but recently switched to the iOS authenticator program, since I always have my phone with me but frequently misplace the little doohickey thing.

Wow, you guys are really convincing. All I have is the authenticator and one of those terrible keyboards, which I stopped using years ago. Maybe I'll look into this.

I got a Razor Naga at the same time I got starcraft two. It completly reformed the way I play both games. I used to use my keypad for warcraft and be a hopeless manual selecter in warcraft 3/starcraft one. So yea highly reccomended.

My boyfriend got my the razer naga. I enjoy it, but no way would I have personally paid that much for a mouse. I tend to be more like the author, I'd rather spend my money on game time or improving the computer. I guess I should mention also I have the sparkle pony, and all the little pets for sell too, all bought by my gamer boyfriend. We can't decide who is the bigger geek... him for buying them for me, or me for actually using them.

Agreed the naga is the best mouse for wow. Personaly I wish it was a tad bigger because i am 6 feet 10 and I have massive hands to go with it. Also the lrazer keyboard with the auto fire software increased my toons dps by like 1k instead of me doing the mashathon. So far the razer headphones have held up over a year compared to others I've used, some of which had cost me over 100 bux.

Razor Naga:
Throw another +1 to the Naga. By far the best purchase ever. The problem I always had with my key bindings was trying not to take my eyes off the screen and the reach of the keys and then trying to get my left hand back to the right location on the keyboard. I admit too I was a bit of a keyboard turner as well. Adding the Naga completely broke me of that habit as well.
PS: The Naga is great for SC2 as well.
Other things:
Other than the Blizzard Authenticator the only thing I have bought was the loot card "Owned" from the Drums of War set. I love planting that thing into a fallen Alliance player that thinks he or she is slick and tries to jump me only to get pwn3d. It was worth every penny.

I have the Razer Naga, and since getting it I ended up getting a load of other Razer peripherals. One of the reviews on the Razer site is very true "once you use a Razer peripheral, all other peripherals seem crappy". Now I have the Lycosa keyboard, Exactmat mouse pad and the Carcharias headset. THEY ALL ROCK. The Naga is the most important though, it really changes the way you play, i'm now faster and deal more DPS than I ever could while using my keyboard for skills. It feels like no-one can keep up with me in raids and I believe that the Naga plays a very important role in that.

Another +1 to the Naga. My main is a hunter, and it it totally fantastic. I have enough space to have a few different cooldown combos macroed, several MD macros and a focus/use tranq shot macro for Lich King hard mode.
I have a resto druid alt, and the naga makes healing so easy that I play WoW one handed with that toon, freeing up the other hand for aiding in the consumption of beer!

Wow, 0 bad reviews? Almost too good to be true.
I have a Microsoft Sidewinder mouse, but I'm lacking buttons for my binds... When I look at the Naga and see 12 buttons, it seems a bit too much and I feel I would have similar problems as onedollarbill with positioning my thumb (as he was with his hand on the keyboard). Could anyone comment on this? Are all buttons easily identifiable only by tact? Do you have to shift your thumb too much to reach every one of them? Do you need that many buttons?

My issues were BEFORE going to the Naga. Before getting the mouse I was doing the same binding I am now but I would have to move my left hand off the WASD keys, hit the binding and then try to get hand back all with out try not to divert my attention away from the screen. As you can imagine in PVP and constantly moving this can cause a challenge.
Introducing the Naga upped my game cause now I could hit the same binding I had setup on the 1 though = keys all with out having to move my hand. It also made using modifier binding that much easier as well.
As far as getting use to it that took a few hours of game play to re-train my brain from wanting to move my hand versus using my thumb to hit the mouse button.
I find it extremely easy to hit all 12 buttons on the mouse. Razor includes these little rubber stickers you can put on the buttons to help you lean the feel for where certain ones are. I've since removed the training aid and now its second nature knowing where the right key is.
Like I said this mouse is great in SC2 as well with having hot keys setup for selecting troops, buildings, etc.

I do really like Razer gear. I don't have a Naga but I do have a Mamba, which is a great all-round gaming mouse. I'd also love to get one of their keyboards, but until they provide a keyboard with a built-in HUD, I'll be sticking with logitech.

I purchased the Naga for myself and a friend. It is awesome. It's comfortable, very little setup and performs smoothly. Any game that uses keybinds or control groups will be easier to play with a Naga. Plus, the thing looks awesome. From the lighting to the stickers and logo. When I opened the packaging my kids eyes were as big as dinner plates. Razer delivered big time with the Naga.

I use the razer naga and the belkin n52te to play wow. I just like mapping all my OHSHIT keys to the dpad so if I'm dying I can just roll my thumb all around and pop all my gcdless cooldowns. the naga is insane and should be your first priority to buy, because you won't be able to go back
