I have a great excuse to buy peripheries - I am an architect, and 3d modeling requires similar stuff like gaming.
My boyfriend and I (both architects) purchased two great notebooks with awesome video cards, both of us have Logitech MX mouses, and we also have a nice big monitor in addition to the two widescreen laptops. Everything serves double purpose - the Logitech mouse is great for modeling programs like Sketchup, Autocad, etc., and at the same time I can put enough spells on the mouse buttons so I only touch keyboard for emergency spells and extra menus. Also, you obviously need good video card and processor for rendering and modelling (which helps to run WoW in high resultion). We also have a 30Mbit internet connection (you know, we have to download models from Sketchup Warehouse :).
The only real WoW-stuff I have is a SteelSeries QcK Lich King-themed mousepad, which I won from a retail company when pre-ordering the two WotLK.
