WoW Insider Show Episode 157: Unwelcome Mat

Every week, we present you with the WoW Insider Show podcast -- an hour's worth of WoW community discussion, covering everything from the week's top stories here on WoW Insider, to emails from our readers, to what's been going on with our particular characters in Azeroth.
Along with your hosts, WoW Insider Senior Editor Michael Sacco and Contributing Editors Matthew Rossi and Mat McCurley, we also feature rotating guest hosts, whether regular WoW Insider contributors or personalities from other sites.
We know that we haven't posted a show in about two week -- and we're sorry for that. Some technical measures beyond our control prevented us from having our podcast feed and software work correctly. Now that the domain switch is done and everything is finally working again, we'll bring you one episode today, another this weekend, and then the regularly scheduled one next week. Thanks for your understanding!

Fixed now, downloading.

I don't know if it's just me, but the link to download the MP3 is giving me a 404 error.

Its not in Itunes either. The last one there is from the 9th.

Just an FYI. It's there in iTunes, but the old feed is broken. You have to go download the new show from the store, and then you'll get the new podcast feed in your iTunes. Don't know about the MP3, haven't tried it. Hope that helps someone.

The "new" feed was auto added to my podcast list. Not sure if that is normal. I clicked refresh and it is downloading now. :)

For the record, I LOVE the Troll druid forms! Glow-in-the-dark mohawk-tiger! XD

Leonar here, from the first email read out. First point, I actually had a "OMG" moment, hearing my question read out ^^;
But, in terms the things you talked about. I should probably have mentioned that I have leveled a Mage to 65, however have stopped simply because of becoming sick of mana management after every two or three pulls.
As to the suggestion to the Druids, I am planning to save that class to level a Troll one.
However, I am considering to level a second Warrior, simply because I find it my most natural class, I love plate armour and with the return of Warriors wielding one handers (I heavily disliked Titan's Grip), it would be a good combination for me.
Thanks for the advice, and for reading my email ^^

You know...I've never actually listened to the podcast until today. Found it quite enjoyable. Good show, all.

Same, been a reader for a long time, but 1st time listener.
I see prot warriors have now had a huge buff to Def Stance going from +45% threat to +100% threat. However I haven't seen anything for us Paladin tanks! I also wonder if Avenger's Shield (glyphed) is hitting for as much as Shield Slam.
Nice show, I'll be listening in this weekend as well!

I actually had an unwelcome mat outside of my apartment ("Go Away"), but then a feral cat peed on it and we had to throw it away. I guess it was offended by the sentiment.

Absolutely fascinating to hear about the different 'feel' of the Horde and Alliance playthroughs.

Anne can giggle as much as she wants. ^_^

Another possible indication that all, or many, races have been "seeded" by the Titans: Draenei, Orcs etc. are not only similar-looking, but they can breed (Garona), they are somewhat compatible. What are the odds of that happening if there was absolutely no conneection between these races, developing on totally different planets?
As for other races, one thing that keeps bothering me... demons.
Are demons like the Nathrezim another "race", as in they live(d) on a planet etc. or are they more along the lines of eg. D&D demons, living in an abyss and they cannot actually be killed for good unless it's there.
On the one hand there's a shit ton of demons, we kill them.. if they could just come back it'd seem kinda pointless. Neither do we see all those demons being summoned in the "classic" sence, with a demonic circle etc. but usually with portals, gateways, like mages use, although a "fel" version.
I lean towards "they are just another race, albeit a weird one, possibly living in the Twisting Nether and not a planet" but how to explain Warlock demons then? They are (albeit briefly, in the animation) summoned and "bound", more or less fits the classic demon.
Or does the Warlock also create a portal, just "transporting" the demon and then subjugating it?
LB Sep 30th 2010 8:51AM
I wouldn't really say that demons can be classified as a RACE, but rather a multitude of races that have been infused with fel energies and then transformed into the demons they are today.
I also don't think that the demons we kill come back, there's just a shitload of them. They're not called the Burning Legion for nothing, if you catch my drift. The only possible exception that I can come to think of is the Nath'rezim (Dreadlords) and that is simply because we really don't know that much about them. They DO seem to be rather hard to kill (Balnazzar and Mal'ganis as examples), but that might simply be because they're good at cheating death and playing with people's minds (Illusions, et.c.).

Guys?!!?
What happened to posting another show at the weekend? I have RSI from refreshing iTunes all week.
Awesome show btw, am liking this more than "The Instance" atm

I love this podcast as well and am sad to see that evidently the problems getting the show uploaded to Itunes continue to plague them. Hopefully soon it will all be resolved. Though an update on the progress they are making to fixing it would be awsome.
