Amazon just sent out a bunch of emails about Cataclysm's release date

Amazon is not a reliable source for release dates. They are often wrong. But it is "odd" that they're saying something now, so close the date. We've previously heard a rumor that Nov. 2 might be another release date, and we know that Cataclysm is on track for a 2010 release, barring something nuts.
Until Blizzard announces the date itself, we don't know exactly when Cataclysm will be released. So until then, just grab a towel and don't panic.
And let me just make it real clear: WoW Insider is not claiming Nov. 23 is Cataclysm's release date. We're just reporting on what has happened with Amazon emails.

Actually the emails i received did not mention a release date, just shipping and delivery dates. Overnite Shipping goes out on Nov 24 for Nov 26 delivery [Black Friday?]. There was a note on the item page that release date was Nov 23rd. Super Saver Shipping delivery is Dec 6 thru 10. However i have a Gamestop, Meijer, and Walmart nearby, so if one of them has it before i get the delivery...

As of 7:51 PM eastern on Sunday, 9/25, Amazon.com does not show any release date for Cataclysm, standard edition or collector's edition. Looks like someone realized the error and took it down.

That reminds me of a (probably) now-defunct WoW addon called "Don't Panic" that would black your screen whenever you lost control of your character. Good times.

I'm still leaning towards Nov 2nd.
First, the person that launched that rumor has clearly strong ties to Blizzard.
Second, November 23 is right in the middle of Pilgrim's Bounty and I dont think Blizzard wants to place the launch in the middle of an event. Especially an event that helps boost cooking cheaply and fast.

I'll believe it when I see a PR statement from Blizzard announcing when it's coming out. Before that It's just speculation.

But really, It does strike me as a little odd that Amazon would be talking about it now. I'd pin it either on insider information or a strong guess. I had it pinned for mid-late November, MAYBE early December anyway. If we look at the timing for the announcements of the previous expacs, It wasn't much further off than two or three months before it actually came out, if I recall correctly. Here's hoping!
