Harder is not necessarily a bad thing. Will it be like heroic Slabs again? I hope not, but I'm looking forward to dusting off my CC abilities. I can tell you this, though, I'm probably going to avoid using the random dungeon tool until everyone outgears the heroics by a mile. I think I'll also avoid healing until patch 4.5, or whenever Blizzard suddenly realizes that they made horrible design changes to the healing game.

You know, I like the idea of Crowd Control, but I don't want to need to do it every pull, every third pull being something larger is fine, but damn. Cataclysm may have gone too far, but it did it because people got tired of the over-use of CC required in lots of places.
And yeah, what if the dungeon finder sticks you without adequate CC? I don't mind having to walk through the dungeons instead of running, but I don't want to crawl. And if I can't use the DF because of poor group stacking or because everyone is such a retard that they can't figure it out...

Voc:
It's simple, Don't PUG.
Guild leveling system+Team-based playstyle requirement=Cataclysm, the anti PUG, pro Friend-group expansion.
As far as being stuck without CC, I can't think of a class that can't CC or offtank (which is CC).
I believe it's very possible that the Dungeon finder, post 80, will largely be used to find the 5th in a 4/5 guild group, and it only takes 3 to punt someone.
The message from Blizz to the community: You're right, we can't make you play nice with each other. We CAN incentivize playing with people who will, by default, play nice with you, and thus leave the "you can't tell me to play nice" people out in the cold.

Lots of current CC is based on categories though. Warlocks can Banish, but what if there's nothing to banish (unless each group has a humanoid, undead, demon to make sure... :)
And yeah, if the DF can no longer be used to assemble random groups for me to jump into a dungeon with, then it loses a lot of the appeal to me. I don't want Wrath dungeons, but I don't want them to go so far the other way that I can't spend my time how I want.

Voc, Locks are able to use one of their major glyph slots to make fear an in place cower, giving them the ability to CC just about anything between that and banish.
Remember that major glyphs are meant to be more utility based. Which means you won't have to sacrifice a Prime DPS glyph to get it.
Point is, there is such a spread of CC amongst the different mob types available to each class that it shouldn't be a problem in all but the rarest cases.
It also means that using the random pug tool at first isn't going to be recommended. Going to have to go back to the old BC ways of hand picking groups for heroics.

I agree.
Due to the significant healing changes, Blizzard will keep buffing and nerfing them till 4.5. Plus, they sure don't seem as enjoyable to play. So don't heal till 4.5 seems like a very reasonable plan.
