When it comes to the auction house I think most of the time prices are so inflated it's ridiculous, and that you can hardly help undercutting someone. I am completely satisfied to sell stuff at say 4 times the price to vendor as opposed to 10. I also think selling leveling mats at crazy prices simply isn't being nice to those without the means to spend insane amounts of money to grind their profession up. Don't be greedy.

Oh, please. The time they spend grinding ore/herbs/leather is worth something, too. And if you think they value their time too highly, well, you can always spend yours instead. Heck, if you think it's overpriced, then it's a good deal for you to run out there and farm up more than you want and sell it at the inflated price.
There's absolutely nothing keeping you from doing so. Expecting some anonymous person on your server to lower their prices for your benefit is just about as classy as standing next to the AH mailbox begging, and you can expect the same amount of respect and results.
And if it's not for your benefit, then you can always buy the high-priced stuff and relist it at a lower price. It's your cash, after all.
