I would agree that the Old Gods are poised to be the ultimate villains of the Warcraft universe in the long run, primarily because Metzen strongly implied this in an interview about the Lore of Warcraft last year.

However, like someone earlier stated, the Cataclysm was Deathwing's doing, and he will be the final boss.

Frankly I'm hoping for a three-way battle between the Titans, Eonar (Who sides with the mortals), and the Old Gods.
