How character customization works for worgen-Gilneans

We're still in beta, so the whole thing could change. But right now, you select which of the two views you want to see close up. Changing Skin Color alters the fur on your worgen shape and the skin of your Gilnean shape. Toggling the Face section changes the face of both your furry form and human form. Changing the Hair Style on your characters will change which hair cut you have in human form, and the shape of your mane in worgen form. Hair color doesn't seem to do anything right now, but changing your Facial Hair changes the worgen ears; if your character is male, it will also change the style of your beard and moustache. Females have no facial hair in beta at this time.

"Females have no facial hair in beta at this time."
Awesome
Hal Sep 27th 2010 3:19PM
Because this is the beta, this is subject to change.
Tunahead Sep 27th 2010 3:52PM
That only applies to Worgen though, right?
...right?
Surely they've fixed that display bug by now where dwarven female facial hair doesn't appear properly on the character model? I mean the bug's been in the game for six years now! Jeepers crumpets!

THAT'S IT - CANCELING WOW!
(Just kidding, I play Horde!)
sprout_daddy Sep 27th 2010 5:08PM
They wouldn't want to give the dwarven women any competition
BigBadGooz Sep 27th 2010 7:07PM
Because the hair serves both astheticaly pleasing and also for intercourse utility

I was going to make a quip about Worgen females being the new Dwarven females, but I don't think I need to now.

I really hope they end up changing this where each form can be customized independently. Having them tied together just means that most players will end up with one form not looking how the player wants.

Welcome to the life of a druid...
devilsei Sep 27th 2010 5:33PM
Well for druids its understood, just like how we accept the mandatory uncontrolled change that we incur when going through the CoT (that conveniently makes my BE pally look like James Hetfield).
But for Worgen? They should be allowed to change each form independently of each other. Otherwise, I'll be forced to make the human half also look like James Hetfield, and live with the consequences.
loop_not_defined Sep 27th 2010 6:06PM
Well, if you understand why it happens with Druids, then you should understand why it happens with Worgen...considering they originated from a druidic order (Druids of the Scythe).
Seriously, this pretty much falls in line with every werewolf movie ever made. "Werewolf Mode" enhances and changes existing features.
jair Sep 27th 2010 6:10PM
Not quite sure how you mean it is understood for druids.... I'm balance/resto so form is always the same, however, bears and cats are tied together and on Alliance side, I haven't seen a pair that I like both forms. Granted that I don't really use those forms, but I'm just saying.
Jason P Sep 27th 2010 6:32PM
Well, I am planning on being in Worgen form as much as possible anyway, so not a big deal for me.
Possum Sep 27th 2010 8:13PM
Urgh, I really hate some of the female human faces and I'm sure there are people who hate a lot of the male faces, I just hope the Worgen face I pick doesn't give me one of the human face I hate.
Lios Sep 28th 2010 6:31AM
It looks like they are trying to make both forms changeable separately. If they succeed, I see no reason why they wouldn't implement that for druids too (although they might need 3 options for cow, cat and bear).

Females have no facial hair in beta at this time.
lol, Bearded ladies.
Dotixi Sep 27th 2010 3:05PM
Hi Res, please?

"Females have no facial hair in beta at this time."
This just makes me giggle.
Tim Sep 27th 2010 3:40PM
Same here. That made me gol?
Ciarnat Sep 27th 2010 3:11PM
I thought the female "facial hair" option was just mislabeled and affected piercings. When I tried it out, piercings were only visible on the human form.
