You didn't ask him the most important question. How did he get rid of his generic ogre?Lord knows I have tried.
9-28-2010 @ 5:15PM
I barely understand how I did it. It was a stroke of luck...a moment where the planets aligned perfectly and the AOL Blog Network randomly worked. Ironically, people seem to think the ogre is better looking than my disembodied head anyway.

I registered on joystiq...

ZOMG THANK YOU LADYGAMERTN!!!!! No more troll for me, hey! No more troll for me! *strolls off singing*

Oh I have registered on Joystick...didn't work.
Heh, posted something similar in The Queue the other day. Top right of the Wow Insider page is a link to Joystiq.com. Go there. Top right of Joystiq will let you log in to or manage your account. Do so. On that page it allows you to edit your picture. Upload your own floating disembodied head and enjoy.

Went back to Joystiq, logged in. It says I have been a member since Feb 2009, lists my recent posts, but has nowhere to change my profile pic. What am I missing?
9-28-2010 @ 5:58PM
Ooh, I may finally be able to get rid of the generic icon? Hooray!
9-28-2010 @ 6:01PM
OK, now I see. I had to completely log out of Joystiq and log back in again to THEN get the option to load a pic. We shall see if it works.
9-28-2010 @ 6:09PM
He got rid of it?
9-28-2010 @ 6:15PM
@TakshashCan you give us some specs on what you up loaded? I've tried small files, jpegs, bitmaps, and practically every file I can think of, but Joystiq says "upload successful, wait 5 minutes" and it never seems to work. :(
9-28-2010 @ 6:22PM
@jfofla, I went about this in a convoluted way.. but it seems to have worked. The first time I went to joystiq it had my name, number of posts, etc. So I logged out, and attempted to "register" with joystiq and it said the email addy was in the system. So I put my email and pw in again, and it asked me to set a user name. So I set the same user name I've been using. When I logged in, it showed options to change password and edit picture.*my apologies if someone already posted this, i didn't think to refresh the page before posting.

I'm just sad this article did not feature a large version of the floating head
9-28-2010 @ 6:23PM
I've found the profile page, but not the icon changing option :(
9-28-2010 @ 6:25PM
There seems to be a filesize limit to the pic as well, and I'm guessing it's under 5 KB. I had issues the 1st time I tried, with one that was 7 KB.

I love you cutaia, finally a solution to all my password woes! For the record, I started noticing you properly after the starpony bel air parody (if I remember correctly?)I think it's the brackets that make you special... Mystical... I want brackets
9-28-2010 @ 6:50PM
Perhaps a sticky with pictures on how to do it would help everyone...
9-28-2010 @ 6:51PM
Went to Joystiq, uploaded the image. Waited. And it failed...again.Repeated this five times, failed.I guess the planets are not aligned for me.
9-28-2010 @ 7:43PM
yay!!!!!no more ogre
9-28-2010 @ 8:37PM
I can't even get stupid Joystiq to notice I'm ME! says that name is already taken and I'm just trying to log in. stupid ass website.
