Just a comment about your last point, when your teammate dies, don't give up. Once, when going into a 3v3 match, my casual team (didn't play alot, I think at this point we were ranked around 1200-1400) had one of our players DC while zoning in, so it was a 2v3 game. Me and my lock buddy (I'm disc priest) thought "hey, we probably aren't gonna win this, but it's worth a shot" and we played our hardest. The other team looked like they were messing around a bit....until we killed their warrior. By then, it was too late. We won fairly easily, just cause we didn't give up.
